This role is responsible for managing the administrative aspects of the hiring process, including interview scheduling, candidate communication and applicant tracking. Often this person is the first point of contact for candidates, playing a crucial role in shaping their experience. In addition, this position plays a key role in identifying where and how to attract talent, leveraging job boards, community outreach, hiring events, and creative local sourcing strategies, while partnering closely with field leadership and HR teams.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle recruitment for assigned requisitions, from intake through offer acceptance.
- Screen and evaluate candidates through phone and virtual interviews to assess qualifications and fit.
- Ensure all candidates meet applicable industry regulations and organizational hiring standards.
- Maintain consistent, proactive communication with candidates to deliver a positive candidate experience.
- Track, update, and manage candidate activity within the applicant tracking system (ATS).
- Develop and execute effective sourcing strategies tailored to each role and local market conditions.
- Identify and cultivate local outreach opportunities, including job fairs, vocational programs, high schools, community colleges, technical schools, universities, and workforce development initiatives.
- Research and leverage alternative sourcing channels such as municipal, county, and state job boards, as well as other local advertising platforms.
- Implement creative sourcing techniques to attract qualified candidates in competitive talent markets.
- Partner with marketing to design and optimize job advertisements and multi-channel recruiting campaigns.
- Ensure job postings and recruitment messaging align with the employer brand and effectively attract target talent.
- Plan, coordinate, and support recruiting events, including job fairs, hiring events, and campus outreach initiatives.
- Collaborate with hiring managers and local HR teams to coordinate event participation and staffing needs.
- Provide guidance, resources, and materials to field teams participating in recruiting events.
- Represent the organization at recruiting events as needed; role may require up to 30–40% travel.
- Serve as a liaison between corporate recruiting, field operations, and HR teams to ensure alignment.
- Coordinate recruiting efforts across multiple locations to support business hiring priorities.
- Deliver regular updates and insights on recruiting progress, market trends, and hiring challenges.
- Drive continuous improvement of recruiting processes, tools, and sourcing effectiveness.
- Conduct exit interviews for driver employees and partner with HR and Operations to identify trends impacting retention and hiring outcomes.
Job Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of recruiting, sourcing, or recruiting coordination experience
Required Experience:
- Experience in transportation, logistics, or high-volume recruiting preferred
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills
- Ability to manage multiple requisitions and priorities simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-starter with strong problem-solving and creative thinking abilities
- Experience with Workday preferred
- Knowledge of transportation industry and DOT regulations
- Experience coordinating hiring events or workforce outreach initiatives
