Corporate Strategy Lead

An opportunity to join Manulife Singapore’s Corporate Strategy team, taking the lead in shaping the overall strategy, with a particular emphasis on the growth agenda. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of Manulife Singapore – both in terms of the transformative changes required in the short- to medium-term as well as the game-changers required to build longer-term competitive advantage.

As a member of the Corporate Strategy team, you will work closely with senior leaders (in particular the Chief Strategy Officer, CEO and other members of the Senior Leadership Team) to analyze market trends, evaluate strategic opportunities, and support the development of corresponding strategies. You will contribute to high-impact projects including strategic planning, M&A, competitive analysis, and transformation initiatives.

This role is not simply about putting strategy and plans on a page – rather it encompasses both the strategic element as well as taking a pragmatic approach to planning how to capture value in the short-term. Working closely with the Chief Strategy Officer and CEO, there is large scope for impact!

Position Responsibilities:

  • Update and refine the Singapore Strategy as required

  • Support business functions on specific strategic initiatives as required

  • Own the Singapore Strategy and ensure delivery against this through coordination with key stakeholders

  • Ensure that there is real value capture from the strategy – and have the courage to call out efforts which are stagnating or should be ceased

  • Craft the innovation plan specifically with regard to future growth platforms (i.e., what will drive the next S-curve) – both developing the strategy and also engaging with stakeholders on how to go about laying the foundations for capturing these opportunities in the future

  • Manage & support multiple strategic projects and initiatives across the Manulife Singapore portfolio, driving innovation and transformation through digital

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization to ensure effective end-to-end delivery

  • An articulate and top-down communicator.

  • Prior experience in life insurance and/ or other financial services.

  • Experience in a business consulting environment.
