Corporate Maintenance Technician

Job Summary: 

The Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in the upkeep and maintenance of the building and its equipment, keeping the facility tidy, functional, and running smoothly. They are reliable with a keen eye for detail and have experience, and solid technical knowledge, in various maintenance areas, such as repairs and cleaning. They take initiative to facilitate identified repairs and/or cleaning before it becomes a concern. They are conscious of all things needed to make the facility run well and shine each and every day.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and perform minor repairs to various appliances, equipment, and systems, including but not limited to, ventilation, plumbing, electrical, filter replacement, cubicles, doors, desks, etc.
  • Collaborate with workers and other professionals during necessary outsourced repairs, renovations, etc.
  • Facilitate cubicle reconfigurations and office moves, including run power cords and network cables, repair and paint, and hang artwork, whiteboard, etc. as needed.
  • Perform various cleaning activities such as spill remediation, mopping, breakroom and restroom cleaning, etc. as needed throughout the business day.
  • Replenish breakroom and restroom paper supplies as needed through the business day.
  • Water interior plants as needed.
  • Oversee exterior grounds upkeep by coordinating with lawncare professional and keeping them free of debris, etc.
  • Other facilities upkeep duties as assigned by the Facilities or Office Manager.

Education: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of an apprenticeship is preferred, but not required.

Experience:  Mid-level position with prior maintenance knowledge required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and cubicle systems.
  • Experience using hand and electrical tools.
  • Ability to read technical manuals and drawings.
  • Physical stamina and manual dexterity.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Office:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to typical risks of injury in an office environment. 
  • Duties include maintenance responsibilities in a typical office setting and includes frequent walking and standing.
