The Opportunity
This is a high-impact role for a finance leader who wants to build, not just manage. As our Corporate Controller, you are the guardian of our financial integrity; we are looking for a builder who will architect a scalable, AI-enhanced financial ecosystem that gives the business the speed and precision it needs. You will be the CFO’s right hand on all technical accounting, close operations, audit management, systems optimization, supporting potential M&A activity, and partnering with FP&A. You will inherit a solid team of five and have a genuine opportunity to shape how that team operates, develops, and scales.
Primary Responsibilities
Financial Operations & PE-Mindset Cash Management
• Own the Close: Lead the global month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, targeting a sub-10-day close with GAAP-compliant precision.
• Cash is King: Maintain a rigorous 13-week rolling cash flow forecast. Deliver accurate, timely financials that support FP&A’s liquidity modeling and covenant compliance reporting.
• Lender Compliance: Partner with FP&A on quarterly covenant reporting for our debt facility. Ensure accounting outputs — cash position, revenue, and EBITDA — are accurate and timely so the CFO and FP&A can model liquidity scenarios and meet lender reporting deadlines.
NetSuite Ecosystem & AI Automation
• Optimize the tech stack: Lead the evolution of NetSuite from a system of record to a driver of efficiency, unlocking underutilized capabilities and integrating AI-driven accounting tools.
• Systems Connectivity: Own the roadmap for finance system integrations including Salesforce, Bill.com, UKG, Deel, and new FP&A platform, to eliminate manual workarounds.
• FP&A Platform Partnership: Support the implementation and adoption of new system as the enterprise FP&A platform, ensuring clean data flows between NetSuite and the planning layer.
• Data Architecture: Partner with FP&A and Sales Operations on a unified data architecture to ensure reporting consistency between operational and financial systems.
Technical Accounting & Governance
• SaaS Revenue: Act as the technical lead for ASC 606, managing revenue recognition for subscriptions, professional services, channel partner commissions, and federal contracts.
• Commission Accounting: Manage ASC 340-40 capitalization and amortization of contract acquisition costs, including complex multi-year commission structures tied to revenue recognition schedules and invoice collection timing.
• Audit & Compliance: Lead the annual audit (BDO) and manage global tax compliance (Nexus, VAT, R&D tax credits).
• Exit Readiness: Maintain audit-ready financial records and documentation standards that support a future sale process, working with FP&A on quality of earnings preparation, normalized EBITDA bridging, and investor-grade reporting.
Team Leadership
• Manage and develop a team of 5 accounting professionals (Senior, Revenue, and Staff levels).
• Oversee international accounting advisors and external agency relationships in support of global operations (US + five overseas entities).
• Build a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement; identify and close skill gaps, develop talent, and flag upgrade opportunities where appropriate.
Who You Are
• You can move fast without sacrificing accuracy. You understand that speed and quality are possible in a well-run close process.
• You are energized by building and improving, not maintaining.
• You can lead teams through change without losing people.
• 8–12 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 3 years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role.
• PE-backed SaaS or recurring revenue software company experience essential.
• Background at Big 4 or regional public accounting foundation strongly preferred.
• Hands-on NetSuite optimization experience, you can describe what you changed to deliver process improvements and efficiencies.
• ERP implementation or significant configuration project experience is a plus.
• ASC 606 fluency: ability to document and defend a revenue recognition position to our auditors.
• You have the conviction to hold the line on accounting judgments and can translate complex technical positions for a PE board or lender in plain language.
• Experienced in multi-entity structures with FX consolidations.
• M&A diligence experience on the buy or sell side.
• Post-acquisition integration experience: entity consolidation, chart of accounts harmonization.
