Position Summary:

Assists the Convocation team with the smooth and organized running of the Spring 2026 Convocation ceremonies.    Provides leadership and direction to ushers, ensuring that guests, students, and staff have access to pertinent information.  Ensures that ushers are informed of their roles and responsibilities and receive regular updates.  Prepares and coordinates usher work schedules. Prior to the start of the ceremonies, participates in usher, emergency evacuation and fire prevention training.  Works closely with the Assistant Registrar, Convocation and Communication, to obtain direction and prepare for special accommodations at the respective ceremonies.

Qualifying Skills and/or Attributes:

Candidates must be customer focused and service oriented with a proven ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels. Demonstrated ability to clearly receive, retain and transmit information. Proven organizational skills, multi-tasking, accuracy and attention to detail.  Ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team.  Demonstrated ability to problem solve and work under pressure.

As a condition of employment, you must provide a valid Canadian Social Insurance Number (S.I.N.) when hired.

Hiring Unit:  Enrolment Services

Reporting to: Clara Spadafora, Assistant Registrar, Convocation and Communication, Enrolment Services  

Duration:  1 May 2026 to 06 June 2026 (inclusive) – part-time & full-time hours (weekdays only)

Minimum Education and Experience:

High School Diploma 2 Years Related Experience

Hourly Salary:

(AMUSE C) $22.50

Estimated Number of Work Hours per Week:

20 (Part time)
