The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking a Conventional Munitions Data Scientist to join our team supporting the Conventional Munitions Division at Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey. You'll join a dynamic team at the intersection of data engineering, software development, and analytics, working directly with senior military and civilian leadership to deliver data-centric systems that support essential defense priorities. You'll architect data solutions, communicate information to diverse stakeholders in an agile environment. Responsibilities:
• Implement and run an iterative software development process such as Agile Scrum.
• Design software architectures and detailed designs for data-centric systems including data ingest pipelines, storage solutions, and visualizations.
• Communicate clearly and frequently with senior civilian and military leadership.
• Provide technical support to database design concepts, particularly relational database design and optimization.
• Work with team in developing RESTful services and other software service architectures.
• Participate with containerized application development using Docker and modern deployment practices.
• Identify, track, and mitigate technical and project risks throughout development lifecycles.
• Apply appropriate security standards and best practices for application development on government networks.
• Plan and track project execution against milestones, and ensure deliverables meet stakeholder requirements.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence within the team.
Qualifications:
Required:
• U.S. Citizenship
• Active Secret Security Clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or related technical discipline.
• Experience with small agile software and/or data engineering teams.
• Successful implementation using an iterative software development process such as Agile Scrum.
• Demonstrable ability to communicate effectively with senior civilian and military leadership.
• Experience designing software architectures and detailed designs for data-centric systems.
• Experience with Docker containers and containerized application development.
• Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python development frameworks and one or more of these languages or similar languages.
• Strong understanding of database design concepts, particularly relational database design and normalization.
• Experience designing and implementing software services such as RESTful APIs.
• Proficiency with SQL or similar query languages for data manipulation and analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to present technical information to diverse audiences.
Desired:
• Demonstrable understanding of application development and risk management processes on Department of Defense (DoD) networks and with available DoD technology stacks.
• Familiarity with Navy organizational structures, ship configurations, and ordnance systems.
• Familiarity with the Microsoft Power Platform.
• Experience with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
• Understanding of fundamental cloud services and design patterns in Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$94,400 - $198,200
