About Broccoli
Broccoli is building the AI operating system for the $500B home services market. We deploy intelligent AI agents at the front lines of HVAC, roofing, and other trades businesses to answer calls, engage customers, book jobs, and ensure every lead is captured.
Backed by top VCs, we closed a $25M Series A and are scaling fast. We work with leading PE-backed home services platforms and plan to 5x headcount in 2026, creating a rare opportunity to join early and have outsized impact.
Why Join Us
- Make an Impact Early: Launch real features within your first few weeks that get used by real businesses.
- Customer first culture: We take flights and sit in customer’s offices instead of meeting rooms.
- Define a Category: Help shape how AI employees run the $600B home services market.
- Speed Matters: We move fast—shipping in weeks, not quarters.
- Grow with the Best: Learn directly from experienced founders and engineers who’ve built and scaled successful startups before.
- Collaborative, High-Energy Environment: Work in-office with a small, mission-driven team building world-class AI.
Role Overview
We’re looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to work directly at the intersection of product, engineering, and customers.
In this role, you’ll partner with customers to design, build, and deploy Broccoli solutions in real environments. You’ll prototype quickly, ship production-grade features, and feed insights directly back into the core product. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for engineers who enjoy ambiguity, customer interaction, and turning rough ideas into working systems.
You won’t just support customers — you’ll help shape what Broccoli becomes.
What You’ll Do
Embed with Customers
- Partner directly with customers to understand how work actually gets done — not how it looks in a spec.
- Lead technical onboarding and deployments, and stay involved as customers scale their usage.
- Act as a trusted builder, not a support layer.
Turn Real Problems into Shipped Solutions
- Rapidly prototype workflows, features, and integrations that unblock customer outcomes.
- Decide what should live as custom work vs. core product — and help push the best ideas upstream.
- Own solutions from first sketch through production rollout.
Build Across the Stack
- Develop customer-facing and internal tooling using TypeScript, React, Node.js, and Python.
- Work comfortably at any layer, from UI to backend logic to infrastructure glue.
Design AI Systems That Actually Work
- Build applied AI workflows using LLMs with a focus on reliability, cost, and real-world constraints.
- Iterate on prompts, evaluations, and system design to improve quality over time.
- Treat AI as a system component, not a magic black box.
Integrate the Modern Tooling Stack
- Build and maintain integrations with customer systems and third-party tools.
- Design APIs and automation flows that are flexible, scalable, and easy to reason about.
Shape the Product
- Feed customer insights directly into product and engineering decisions.
- Work closely with Product and Core Engineering to influence roadmap and architecture.
Why Join Broccoli?
- Real Impact – Work directly on problems customers care about, and see your work used immediately.
- Ownership & Autonomy – You’ll own projects end-to-end and move fast without layers of process.
- AI That Ships – Build AI systems that work in production, not just demos.
- Top-Tier Team – Work with sharp, kind, highly motivated builders.
- Competitive Compensation – Salary + equity.
- Comprehensive Benefits – Health, dental, vision, and more.
