As a Control System Engineer, you will be responsible for application software development for Turbo Machinery equipment (Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, Electric motor driven compressor etc.) for Baker Hughes Turbomachinery & Process Solutions business. You'll be responsible for development, testing & site commissioning support for the assigned projects. Develop innovative software solutions towards energy transition.

As a Control Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing & Testing of application software for Gas turbines, Steam Turbine for mechanical drive (compressor) & generator drive applications
  • Proficiency in testing techniques: test case design, execution, defect tracking, functional, regression, performance, and reliability testing in industrial automation
  • Experience with system-level testing of PLC and control systems.
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies adapted to engineering projects.
  • Advanced coursework or certifications in Industrial Automation, PLC Programming, or SCADA systems is a plus
  • Ability to design and execute test cases for hardware-software integration. 
  • Strong understanding of PLC programming languages (Ladder Logic, Structured Text, Function Block Diagram).
  • Interpreting of the P&ID & implementation of all the control loops/schemes
  • Low fidelity simulation development to test the operative sequences
  • Translating requirements / specifications into control logic/software and deliver projects within required timelines and with high quality standards.
  • Working with internal stakeholders & customers to ensure, unit control panel FAT/SAT is closed for the projects.
  • Working with cross-functional engineering teams to understand project requirements & deliver the projects in full compliance with requirements
  • Providing support to the site in successful commissioning of the machines within the SLA boundaries.
  • Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a BE/BTech in Instrumentation & Controls/ Electrical/ Electronics & Communication Engineering
  • Have 3 to 6 years of hands-on experience in the development of application software/control logic of gas turbine/Steam turbine unit control systems
  • Hands-on experience in 1 or more control systems, such as GE Speedtronic (Mark Vie), Siemens -S7 Platform, Triconex, Allen Bradley, GE Fanuc (RX3i, Rx7i), Woodward, CCC.
  • Hands-on experience in 1 or more SCADA packages - Cimplicity / WinCC
  • Have exposure to acceptance test procedures (FAT/SAT), involving major Oil & Gas customers & EPC organizations.
  • Be an excellent team player & work with the team in resolving the difficult situations that evolve during the project execution.
