About the role
The Field Application Engineer works across the EMEA Sales & Marketing department and the Business Group Application and Marketing teams. They drive all necessary technical support actions to insure business creation at Automotive accounts.
What you will do
In this exciting role, your key responsibilities will be, among others
- Drive design wins and socket adoption in assigned target accounts by providing high‑impact technical engagement throughout the customer design cycle
- Plan and execute customer visits and distributor partner trainings, delivering compelling technical product presentations, demonstrations, and clear value propositions
- Lead proof‑of‑concept activities, solution design, and technical demonstrations to support customer evaluations and secure design wins
- Act as the technical project lead for assigned design‑in campaigns, ensuring early involvement in customer roadmaps and a structured, timely information flow between customers, sales, and internal Business Groups
- Analyze customer system architectures and requirements; own and maintain system and block diagrams to ensure full alignment and understanding across internal technical teams
- Qualify sales opportunities by translating customer technical requirements into well‑defined application solutions and positioning Nexperia effectively against competitors
- Articulate and quantify the technical and system‑level advantages of Nexperia products versus competitive alternatives, including performance, reliability, cost, and integration benefits
- Synthesize customer feedback, application trends, and competitive insights to actively influence product definition, feature prioritization, and roadmap evolution
- Provide continuous formal and informal knowledge sharing, enabling customers and partners to understand the technical, operational, and commercial impact of Nexperia solutions
- Build and maintain strong, trust‑based relationships with key customer stakeholders, assigned direct account sales teams, and internal business groups to support joint account objectives and long‑term strategic engagement
- Analyze customers’ technical strategies and future requirements to enable the sales team to act proactively, forecast more accurately, and respond effectively to customer needs
- Support ongoing enablement of regional sales organizations by educating teams on new technologies, product introductions, application use cases, and associated business value
What you will need
- Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering or similar
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in design engineering and application engineering
- Preferably related work experience at a customer within the Automotive segment
- Strong communication and presentation skills to drive communication with relevant stake holders
- Excellent communication skills in German and English
- Target driven, shows initiative and have an entrepreneurial attitude
- Willingness to travel >50%
