SSC conducts cutting-edge propulsion testing for NASA, the Department of Defense, and commercial partners and is headquarters for NASA’s Rocket Propulsion Test Program.

As part of the team, you’ll play a meaningful role in enabling the missions that shape the future of space exploration.

Responsibilities:

As a Contract Specialist (Contractor), you will be a key member of the acquisition support team—helping NASA procurement professionals navigate complex acquisition activities while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies.  While you will not perform inherently governmental functions, your work will directly support the efficiency, accuracy, and integrity of the agency’s acquisition processes.

In this role, you will:

  • Support Government personnel in preparing contractual documentation and in the administration of contract proposals, awards, and modifications.
  • Assist with a range of acquisition-related administrative and analytical tasks, including maintaining financial and contract records, verifying the accuracy of data and statistical reports, and helping track and resolve issues.
  • Provide support to Government Contracting Officers and Specialists on acquisition challenges, opportunities, and process improvements—always in alignment with applicable statutes, regulations, and national acquisition policies.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of U.S. Government procurement experience and a Bachelor’s degree required; additional experience may substitute for the degree. Acceptable alternatives to both the five years of experience and the Bachelor’s degree include: a Ph.D. plus one (1) year of procurement experience; a Master’s degree plus three (3) years of procurement experience; an Associate degree plus nine (9) years of procurement experience; or a high school diploma plus eleven (11) years of procurement experience.
