Focus of the Role

As a Contract Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping and enhancing contract management and commercial governance practices. Your focus will be on overseeing agreements and driving performance improvements with third-party suppliers across design, construction, and maintenance services across GN&T Field Services. You will be responsible for managing GN&T Field Services supplier contracts, including the establishment of new agreements, renewals, compliance oversight, health and safety requirements, and the efficient coordination of work orders and programmes of work.

What You’ll Do

Global Networks & Technology - Field Services provides truly expert installation, maintenance, and repair services for Telstra's network infrastructure and customer equipment. We ensure seamless connectivity and optimal performance.

The role is accountable for:

  • Provide high-level guidance on scoping requirements for any works into GN&T Field Services that require external supplier services. Coordinate with Field Services stakeholders to ensure scope meets the business’ requirements.
  • Review, improve and sustain GN&T Field Services supplier compliance to HSE, strategic contractual KPIs & clauses, assurance and minimum requirements for the scope of works.
  • Facilitate regular and effective operational meetings with suppliers, focusing on the review of work orders, assurance activities, cost performance, and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) metrics. Ensure that all programs of work are actively monitored and project managed through to successful completion.
  • Play a pivotal role in strategic supplier negotiations across commercial and other contractual terms.
  • Ensure supplier relationship management standards are met for strategic and critical suppliers.
  • Engage with a broad network of internal cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of their goals and challenges. Use these insights to shape resourcing and capability strategies that deliver targeted solutions aligned with GN&T Field Services requirements.
  • Coordinate with Procurement to perform onboarding and assessment for any new GN&T Field Services suppliers. Own the Source-to-Contract process for GN&T Field Services and develop Statement of Works (SOW) for the Programs opportunities. This includes drafting contractual documentation with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to a variety of commercial and contractual projects to understand pain points and propose solutions and recommendations for consideration.
  • Apply extensive industry and commercial experience to ensure contracts clauses are current, risks are identified, develop/recommend the most appropriate commercial construct (outcome-based rates, labour rates, ongoing competitive tension i.e. Quoting) and insight is gained through the analysis of costs, benefits and supply markets.
  • Create and implement contractual processes, management systems and to ensure a constant application of commercial practices including in the areas of onboarding, performance, risk, safety, and contract management.
