As a Contracts Administrator Level 3 (Principal) or Level 4 (Senior Principal) located in Dulles, VA, you'll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one. Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced and highly motivated professional supporting commercial space contracts for satellites and our unique and innovative satellite life extension spacecraft. Working as a team, we cover a wide range of contractual activities and strive to address contracts challenges in working with domestic and international satellite operators. A Contract Administrator produces high quality Contract Management related products supporting the NGSP Space Superiority Division (SSD) Logistics & Servicing OU programs. This position requires managing contractual performance and contractual relationships, drafting and interpreting terms in commercial contracts, and the ability to work closely with business development, program managers, finance, legal counsel, export control, risk management, tax and other groups.
This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.
Your Role and Impact:
- Identify contractual risks and mitigate with appropriate contract provisions
- Plan and execute successful contract negotiations of a complex nature and achieving targeted profit rates, favorable terms and conditions on both contracts and other agreements inclusive of teaming agreements required to assist in mitigating risk and meeting overall financial goals
- Build customer relationships despite geographical separation as well as be able to effectively cultivate those relationships early on
- Make decisions in a timely manner under tight deadlines and pressure
- Offer guidance and work collaboratively with a multitude of organizations ranging from technical, program, finance, global supply chain, global mobility office and security for seamless contract administration
- Other duties as assigned
This position can be filled at either a Level 3 or Level 4
Basic Qualifications for Level 3:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years of Contracts, Subcontracts, legal or other directly related experience, or master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant contracts, subcontracts, legal or other directly related experience. Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree
- Understanding of the principles of contracting, including the fundamentals of contract law, and the utilization of indemnities, warranties, limitations of liability, insurance, ownership transfers, risk of loss and other essential provisions in contract
- Experience in performing risk assessments of contracts and provisions and preparing risk mitigation strategies, drafting and interpreting commercial contracts, non-disclosure agreements, memorandums of agreement, and similar documents
- Demonstrated commercial contracts management with ability to coordinate effectively with a broad range of customers and stakeholders to solve complex contractual and business-related issues
- Experience leading major assignments from cradle to grave (start, oversee, and follow-through to completion on a timely basis)
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Top-Secret security clearance

- Bachelor’s Degree with 8+ years of Contracts, Subcontracts, legal or other directly related experience, or master’s degree with 6+ years of relevant contracts, subcontracts, legal or other directly related experience. Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree
- Understanding of the principles of contracting, including the fundamentals of contract law, and the utilization of indemnities, warranties, limitations of liability, insurance, ownership transfers, risk of loss and other essential provisions in contracts
- Experience in performing risk assessments of contracts and provisions and preparing risk mitigation strategies, drafting and interpreting commercial contracts, non-disclosure agreements, memorandums of agreement, and similar documents
- Demonstrated commercial contracts management with ability to coordinate effectively with a broad range of customers and stakeholders to solve complex contractual and business-related issues

Preferred Qualifications:
- Active U.S. Government DoD Top-Secret security clearance
- Juris doctorate, Master of Laws, or paralegal certificate
- Experience in U.S. Government contracts/agreements (FAR Part 15 contracts, DFARS, etc.), Other Transaction Authority (OTA) Agreements, and/or NASA contracts/agreements and different contract types
- Experience in the commercial satellite industry or other industry for sale of significantly valued and technically complex products or services
- Experience with international contracts and business relationships and familiarity with export control laws and regulations
- Extensive Proposal Support is a plus

Primary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $117,500.00 - $176,300.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
