Major Duties:

  • Keep abreast of Joint Commission and BUMED changes including new and revised requirements.
  • Ensure information such as minutes of meetings and spreadsheets with quality metrics are complete; accurately recorded and ready for inspection/survey at all times.
  • Ensure that multiple Medical Staff Committees are compliant with all command, BUMED and Joint Commission accreditation and survey readiness requirements by assisting in developing both short and long-term plans and analyzing data.
  • Assist medical staff committee chairs with meeting logistics to include arranging for meeting locations and prepares in final form, narrative, tabular and presentation material such as correspondence, reports, agenda and minutes of meetings.
  • Prepare in final form narrative, tabular and presentation material such as correspondence and memoranda, personnel evaluations and fitness report.
  • Responsible for a variety of procedural, clerical and administrative duties in support of the staff and continuous survey readiness functions of the Directorate for Quality Management/Special Assistants and the Office of Continuous Improvement
  • Coordinate with the Head, Office of Continuous Improvement (OCI) concerning command, higher authority and Joint Commission survey readiness
  • Maintain scheduling database for multiple conference rooms and departmental visitor display board directing meeting attendees to appropriate meeting spaces.
  • Manages Quality Management/OCI conference room reservations and maintains the scheduling database for multiple rooms.
  • Provides customer service support as including faxing, scanning, photocopying, and supply ordering.
  • Acts as the purchase card holder for the Quality Management/Special Assistant Directorate.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Healthcare Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
