Program Summary

KBR supports the operational needs of U.S. armed forces at Morón Air Base in Spain and several bases in Turkey. Our services ensure smooth operations, allowing Air Force and government personnel to focus on their missions. We provide program management, civil engineering, morale, welfare, and recreation support, among other essential services. Awarded by the Air Force Installation Contracting Center, our contract spans a five-year base period with three one-year options, reflecting our commitment to excellence and operational support.

Job Summary

The USAF Senior Cook leads the preparation and production of meals in a United States Air Force Dining Facility (DFAC), ensuring high standards of quality, taste, and presentation. This role oversees junior cooks and kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and supervision during meal preparation and service. The Senior Cook monitors food safety, sanitation, and portion control to maintain compliance with Air Force regulations. They assist with menu planning, inventory management, and coordinating kitchen operations to meet operational requirements. Additionally, the Senior Cook ensures efficient workflow, resolves kitchen issues, and supports a professional, team-oriented dining environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise junior cooks and kitchen staff during meal preparation and service.
  • Prepare, cook, and present meals according to approved recipes, menus, and portion standards.
  • Ensure compliance with Air Force food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations.
  • Assist with menu planning, recipe development, and special dietary requirements.
  • Monitor inventory, track food usage, and report supply needs or shortages.
  • Train and mentor staff in cooking techniques, kitchen procedures, and proper equipment use.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment while supporting efficient workflow.
  • Daily use of organizational abilities with a focus on following recipes, menus and portion guidelines
  • Work in a fast-paced team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Additional duties as assigned by Dining Facility Manager.

Basic Qualifications

  • Turkish Citizen
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Read, Speak, Understand Level 2 English
  • Experience in food preparation and cooking, preferably in a large-scale or military dining facility.
  • Will have or be able to attain ServSafe Food Manager Certification within 45 days of employment commencing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in large-scale or military dining facility food service operations.
  • Advanced knowledge of cooking techniques, menu planning, and recipe development.
  • Experience with inventory management, supply ordering, and kitchen workflow optimization

All positions require the applicant to obtain and pass a medical physical that is certified by a doctor.

All positions require a current and favorable Turkish Security background check.

All male candidates must have completed their military service.
