About The Role
This is a unique opportunity to shape Elsevier’s digital content strategy and show us what great looks like. You’ll lead the way in creating compelling, user-focused content that drives engagement across our digital platforms. This role isn’t about following a playbook—it’s about defining one. You’ll have the freedom to influence, innovate, and set standards that elevate our brand experience online. You’ll craft compelling, conversion-driven content that resonates with our audience and drives measurable results. This role is central to our content strategy, working cross-functionally with design, SEO, and marketing teams to deliver unified messaging that performs.
Responsibilities
Content Creation & Strategy
Write clear, persuasive, and SEO-optimised copy for websites, landing pages, email campaigns, product descriptions, and more.
Develop and maintain a consistent brand voice across all digital touchpoints.
Conduct keyword research and competitor analysis to inform content strategy.
Partner with designers, marketers, and SEO specialists to produce integrated campaigns.
Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas.
Edit and proofread content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and brand alignment.
Guide & collaborate with strategic content & creative copywriters and contribute to a culture of creativity and excellence.
Share best practices and support team development.
Monitor content performance using analytics tools and iterate based on insights.
Conduct A/B testing to refine messaging and improve conversion rates.
Stay current with digital trends, audience behaviour, and emerging technologies.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
Proficiency in CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress), SEO tools (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs), and Google Analytics.
Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
3+ years of experience in web copywriting, preferably in a digital agency or marketing team.
Strong portfolio showcasing versatility across formats and industries.
Experience in e-commerce, tech, or B2B sectors.
Certifications in SEO, content marketing, or digital strategy.
Familiarity with AI tools for content creation and optimisation.
Multilingual proficiency for global content initiatives.
Published thought leadership or conference participation.

U.S. National Base Pay Range: $48,900 - $81,500.
