Content and Copywriter Strategist

The Content and Copywriter Strategist is a creative, detail-oriented writer which brings our brand voice to life across every customer touchpoint. This role blends storytelling with strategy—crafting compelling, engaging, emotional connection, and on-brand messaging and connecting copywriting to business objectives to drive revenue. This role supports business growth across digital, retail, and marketing channels.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Note: Other duties may be assigned)

Brand & Campaign Copy

  • Writes seasonal campaign messaging that supports product launches and brand initiatives
  • Develops headlines, taglines, and storytelling concepts aligned with Vera Bradley’s voice
  • Translates print stories and design inspiration into engaging, customer-facing narratives

Digital & E-Commerce

  • Writes product descriptions that highlight function, craftsmanship, and style
  • Creates homepage, landing page, and promotional copy
  • Develops email marketing content (subject lines, preview text, body copy)
  • Supports SMS, paid social, and digital ad copy

Retail & Experiential

  • Writes in-store signage and visual merchandising copy
  • Supports packaging, gifting messages, and branded collateral
  • Contributes to seasonal window storytelling and retail activations

Social & Community

  • Collaborates with Social team on captions, content & campaign messaging
  • Maintains consistency across organic and paid content
  • Helps evolve the brand voice

Collaboration

  • Builds collaborative relationships with internal and external partners to support long term success
  • Stays current on copy trends and industry developments, proactively identifying opportunities to inform the future copy content

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High school graduate. Bachelors degree in Journalism or Communications or equivalent experience preferred
  • 3–5+ years of copywriting experience (retail, fashion, lifestyle, or DTC preferred)
  • Strong portfolio showcasing campaign, product, and digital work
  • Deep understanding of brand voice development and storytelling
  • Ability to balance creativity with conversion-focused writing
  • Exceptional grammar, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Experience working cross-functionally with design, merchandising, and marketing teams

Base Pay Range:

$66,800.00 - $100,200.00

Vera Bradley’s compensation ranges are based on market data and comply with all local, state and federal regulations. Individual pay within the listed range depends on work location, skills, experience, and relevant education. The posted salary reflects base pay only and excludes bonuses, equity, or other incentives, if applicable.
