Our ideal candidate will have

• 8년 이상의 소프트웨어 개발/컨설팅/기술 지원 경험 (가능하면 여러 서로 다른 산업/버티컬에서의 경험 선호)
• 다음 프로그래밍 언어 중 최소 한 가지 이상에 대한 숙련도: Java, Python, Node.js(JavaScript), Ruby, Go 등
• MongoDB, Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL 등 데이터베이스 사용 경험
• Linux 진단 및 튜닝에 대한 이해 및 경험 (Windows 튜닝 경험이 있다면 플러스 요인)
• 엔터프라이즈 규모 소프트웨어 아키텍처, 애플리케이션 개발 방법론, 소프트웨어 배포 및 운영에 대한 이해
• 뛰어난 분석 능력, 진단 능력 및 문제 해결 능력
• 깊은 기술 역량과 고객 관리 역량이 결합된 역할에 대한 강한 동기 부여
• 협업적인 고객 환경에서 자신감 있게 발표하고 커뮤니케이션할 수 있는 능력
• 주중에 고객사 현장으로의 단기 출장을 자주 수행하는 데 어려움이 없고, 이에 충분히 적응할 수 있는 분

On a given day in this role you will

• 애플리케이션 라이프사이클의 모든 단계(또는 일부 단계)에 걸쳐 고객 프로젝트에 기여합니다. 예: 포트폴리오 평가, 애플리케이션 기획 및 설계, 배포 아키텍처, 개발 및 빌드, 통합 및 릴리스 구성, 시스템 테스트, 프로덕션 운영, 애플리케이션 최적화, 모범 사례(best practices) 도입 등
• 아키텍트, 개발자, 운영 담당자를 대상으로 고객사 교육(클래스룸 기반 트레이닝)을 제공합니다.
• 다른 컨설팅 엔지니어, 프로젝트 매니저, 어카운트 팀 등으로 구성된 확장된 딜리버리 팀의 일원으로 협업합니다.
• 신뢰받는 어드바이저로서의 개인적인 MongoDB 브랜드를 구축하여, MongoDB와 고객이 미래로 나아갈 수 있도록 가이드합니다.
• Product 및 Engineering 팀과 협업하여 MongoDB 제품 로드맵의 방향성에 영향을 미칩니다.

About the role

MongoDB is expanding our global team of consulting engineers to further our ongoing plans for worldwide growth!

MongoDB Professional Services (PS) works with customers of all shapes and sizes, in all verticals, from tier-1 banks to small web startups, on a variety of exciting use cases. This role solves technically sophisticated problems, gains incredible cross-stack experience, works with top-notch people in the business, networks with industry leaders, and sees new places – all in a day’s work!

MongoDB PS exists to support the development of our customers’ vision, accelerate customers’ time to value, and drive a multitude of customer adoption scenarios – from building new solutions to modernizing legacy applications or migrating to cloud. Our consulting solutions ensure that organizations get the best out of MongoDB.

We’re looking for a highly technical individual, with strong problem-solving and communication skills who is comfortable working closely with customers. 

This role will be based remotely in Seoul.

Our ideal candidate will have

• 8+ years of software development/consulting/support experience, preferably in a number of distinct industries/verticals
• Competence in at least one of the following languages (in no particular order): Java, Python, Node.js (JavaScript), Ruby, Go, etc.
• Experience with databases such as MongoDB, Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL
• Familiarity with Linux diagnostics and tuning; Windows tuning knowledge is a plus
• Familiarity with enterprise-scale software architectures, application development methodologies, and software deployment and operations
• Excellent analytical, diagnostic skills, and problem-solving skills
• High motivation for a role that combines deep technical and customer-management dimensions
• Confidence speaking and presenting in a collaborative customer setting
• Should be capable and comfortable with frequent travel for short trips to customer sites during the working week

On a given day in this role you will

• Contribute to customer implementations at any or all phases of the application lifecycle: portfolio assessment, application planning and design, deployment architectures, development and build, integration and release configuration, system testing, production operations, application optimization, and best practices adoption
• Deliver customer classroom-based training to architect, developer, and operations roles
• Work as part of a wider delivery team comprising fellow consulting engineers, project managers, and account teams
• Cultivate your individual MongoDB reputation as a trusted advisor to guide MongoDB and our customers into the future
• Partner with Product and Engineering teams to influence the direction of the MongoDB product roadmap

As a Consulting Engineer, you will be successful in this role when you can execute the following:

• Become a field expert in “everything MongoDB”
• Communicate complex technical proposals simply and convincingly to a wide range of audiences
• Gain a reputation as a trusted advisor with your clients, large and small
• Ensure your client’s success with their MongoDB endeavors
• Maintain the required level of billable utilization
• Influence MongoDB product development by contributing experience from the field
• Successfully communicate the product roadmap to external clients
• Constantly work on improving yourself, our products, and our team
