What You'll Be Doing

Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Data Risk (Enterprise Data Governance Adherence), you will be a key member of the Enterprise Data Governance Adherence Risk Assessor team in the Enterprise Data & Records Management Office (EDRMO) / Chief Data Office (CDO). EDRMO is a central hub/enterprise level governing office for Data & Records. As a Consultant, Data Risk, you will work closely with business partners and stakeholders from various Strategic Business Units (SBUs) and Functional Groups (FGs), both Project Teams and respective Data Governance(DG) teams: to provide expertise and leadership on Data/Records risk for projects and other internal risk processes. As a Consultant, Data Risk, you will primarily be involved in evaluating and leading various individual Data & Records Risk Assessments, making sure these assessments adhere to our respective due diligence, policies, standards, guidelines and our Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

How You'll Succeed

  • Risk Assessments - Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities within the organization. Gain expert knowledge and understanding of EDRMO data governance policy, standards, procedures, and processes and key controls within EDRMO and support continuous improvement of the same, to ensure a sustainable Enterprise Data Governance Practice. Support and engage in data risk assessment processes as required to ensure effective management of data and records risk as assessed and identified through processes such as Change Initiative Risk Assessment (CIRA), Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), Technology Triage, and Third Party Risk Assessment (TPRA).
  • Stakeholder Engagement, Teamwork & Communication - Work closely with various stakeholders from across EDRMO and across the wider enterprise to communicate risk-related issues and promote a risk-aware culture within the organization. Teamwork/collaboration skills and written and verbal communication skills are strong assets.
  • Personal Organization & Prioritization - Working in a fast paced, high visibility, high volume space with multiple urgent commitments: organizational skills (including advanced experience with Microsoft Suite), independence, and self-management skills are strong assets.
  • Data Analysis - Investigate quantitative and qualitative data to evaluate risk exposure and develop risk profiles.
  • Regulatory Compliance - Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and enhance risk management frameworks.

Who You Are

  • You have a degree/diploma in a relevant field (e.g., Information Management, Data Management, Business Administration, Project Management, Policy, etc.). (Note that degree/diplomas in other fields will be considered. Advanced degree at the Masters level also viewed as a strong asset.). You can demonstrate experience in either risk management, application security, information security, control testing, data governance, data analysis, or information management. Experience in supporting enterprise-wide data governance programs is a strong asset. Strong understanding of risk management framework including risk assessments and risk mitigation practices, with understanding and awareness of data management best practices and data lifecycle management.
  • You are comfortable with complexities and also enjoy deep-dives into these complex problems and making sense of often conflicting information. You communicate detailed information in a meaningful way: in both high level verbal forms in small group meetings with senior stakeholders and in sophisticated, grammatically correct written forms. You can distill/synthesize complex problems in a succinct manner for senior stakeholders.
