Business Analysis serves as a liaison between the organization's businesses and IT systems development teams to align business strategies and capability needs and to ensure IT systems enable their desired value. This job family identifies and analyzes business needs, defines requirements and objectives, and makes recommendations for solutions using new and existing technologies. This job family researches and documents relationships between the components of the application system (i.e., end users, business processes, data, applications, and devices) and translates business requirements into application requirements.
Job Summary
The Consultant, Business Analysis partners with business leaders and project teams to identify business needs and deliver effective Information Technology solutions. This role defines project scope, facilitates requirements gathering, and ensures solution development, implementation, and change management activities achieve the intended business outcomes.
The role also serves as a subject matter expert (SME) on core systems and processes, helping the broader team understand system capabilities, data flows, and business impacts. With a natural curiosity to learn, a self-starter mindset, and a focus on collaboration, the Consultant proactively seeks ways to improve processes, mentor colleagues, and enhance business efficiency through technology.
Responsibilities
- Applies best practices for business analysis, including requirements elicitation, documentation, and validation, while staying informed on emerging industry trends.
- Defines and manages requirements in alignment with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and project scope, ensuring clarity in problem statements, objectives, and strategies.
- Leads elicitation sessions using a variety of methods such as interviews, workshops, surveys, documentation analysis, and business modeling with key stakeholders.
- Facilitates analysis of complex business problems and makes actionable recommendations for process or system improvements.
- Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) on core business systems and processes, maintaining a deep understanding of functionality, integrations, and dependencies.
- Helps team members understand system architecture and functionality, ensuring consistent knowledge and effective troubleshooting across the team.
- Trains and mentors new employees on systems, tools, and best practices to enable team success and consistent execution.
- Mediates across IT teams, leveraging knowledge of organizational roles, systems, and interdependencies to drive collaboration and alignment.
- Focuses on process analysis and re-engineering, with a strong understanding of technical challenges and their business implications.
- Demonstrates strong communication, facilitation, and listening skills to bridge the gap between business and technical stakeholders.
- Monitors and resolves Intermediate Document error (IDOC) and Advance Shipping Notification (ASN) errors within SAP systems.
- Performs testing and cutover activities during IT deployments.
- Works through issues and reporting needs across all inventory systems and teams.
- Creates, maintains, and enhances reports and metrics dashboards to support data-driven decision-making.
- Provides data support for project execution and performance tracking.
- Acts as a mentor to less experienced colleagues, fostering growth and collaboration.
- Investigates business operations to identify root causes and opportunities for improvement, articulating business impacts and recommended actions.
- Partners with functional experts to define project scope and ensure alignment with business objectives and ROI expectations.
- Leads stakeholder sessions to develop and document process flows, requirements, and business rules.
- Collaborates with subject matter experts to execute user acceptance testing (UAT) and manage change activities.
- Provides timely, clear communication to stakeholders and project partners, translating technical concepts into accessible insights.
- Manages relationships with vendors and external partners to ensure smooth system integration and project execution.
- Partners with project stakeholders and leadership to summarize project outcomes, insights, and impacts for presentation to senior management.
- Proactively seeks opportunities to improve processes and create innovative solutions that help teams achieve their goals.
- Approaches problem-solving with curiosity and experimentation — a “tinkerer” mindset that asks, “What happens if I pull this lever?”.

Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience, preferred
- Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Working knowledge of SCORE, SAP, and MDG platforms preferred
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills

Anticipated salary range: $80,900 - $115,500
