About the role

This role is responsible for ensuring that all construction and construction related jobs executed onsite are safe and compliant with all relevant regulations. This role will develop, implement, and oversee the construction safety program for all employees, contractors, and visitors. It involves monitoring compliance with safety regulations, conducting safety training, and investigating incidents to prevent future occurrences.

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain construction safety plans, policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with regulatory and Haleon global standards.

  • Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses, and regular site inspections to proactively identify and mitigate safety risks.

  • Manage and continuously improve the Permit to Work (PTW) system and contractor safety management, including daily PTW logs and gemba walks.

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable local, state, and federal safety regulations.

  • Deliver safety training, inductions, toolbox talks, and safety meetings for employees, contractors, and visitors.

  • Promote safety awareness, including emergency procedures, ensuring all site personnel understand and follow safety protocols.

  • Perform safety audits, report findings to management, and drive corrective and preventive actions to closure.

  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; conduct root cause analyses; and prepare detailed incident reports.

  • Develop, implement, and coordinate emergency response plans, drills, and act as a first responder when required.

  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to foster a strong safety culture and communicate safety expectations and performance across the organization.

Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 4-6 years in construction safety.

  • Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards (E.g., NFPA 70, OSHA).

  • Strong leadership skills.

  • NEBOSH IGC
