Construction Manager

Tegucigalpa, Honduras Full time

Function:  

Responsible for industrial customers, new service station projects, C-Store retrofits, and new C-Store constructions.

Key Responsibilities:

* Project Governance & Strategy

* Policy Compliance: Ensure all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes align with established Puma Energy policies and organizational goals.

* Execution Excellence: Manage project activities to ensure they meet contractual requirements, approved budgets, and timelines, achieving timely completion within financial constraints.

* Capital Projects: Lead the implementation and reporting of Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) projects for both Retail and Business (B2B) clients.

Project Evaluation & Formulation

  • Technical & Financial Assessment: Evaluate and formulate construction projects based on:
    • Technical Feasibility: Equipment and material specifications.
    • Financial Scope: Budgetary viability and reach.
    • Safety Standards: Compliance with corporate safety policies and norms.
    • Real-time Tracking: Development of measurable progress indicators.
  • Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans defining goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, risk identification, contingency plans, and resource allocation for every phase

Administrative Oversight

  • Process Integrity: Supervise and ensure compliance with Corporate Policies and Manuals.
  • Procurement Management: Oversee procurement requests and provide technical validation for acquisitions.
  • Budgetary Control: Monitor the approved budget to ensure financial discipline.
  • Stakeholder Management: Maintain efficient and transparent communication with all involved parties.

Field Supervision & Technical Leadership

  • Site Oversight: Directly supervise on-site execution, focusing on the schedule, construction quality, and strict adherence to HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment) policies.
  • Technical Solutions: Analyze project-specific technical needs and propose strategic solutions to the Regional Construction Manager.
  • Project Lifecycle Management: Lead engineers, technicians, and team leads from project initiation to final handover, proactively reporting any deviations to senior management.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Talent Management: Select, lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a high-performing technical and administrative team to ensure all project goals are met.

Requirements:

Experience: 

  • University Degree in civil, mechanical engineering or other Engineering discipline.  Architect 
  • Five + years of experience, preferably related to project management. 
  • Purchasing experience in an industrial capacity with proven record of contract negotiation.
  • Experience establishing and promoting best practices to help improve project visibility and predictability.
  • Previous supervisory and management experience is preferred.

Skills:  

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Project Manager, internet, Excel and Microsoft Office are required.
  • Financial Acumen is required.
  • Fully bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills is required
  • Knowledge and understanding of project monitoring and reporting systems; practical experience with documentation
