STV currently has an opening for a Construction Manager in our Transportation and Infrastructure Division to manage roadway, bridge and transit-related construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for on-site management of various construction projects in the District of Columbia, supervision of field staff, and assisting with growth of the CM/CEI practice to better service our clients in the Washington, DC Metro Area.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary contact between contractors, project owners, engineers of record, and other stakeholders
Manage contractors on behalf of owners, monitor work for safety and contract compliance
Resolve field construction issues with the contractor and project owner
Manage STV field operations and supervise field staff – STV employees and subconsultants
Provide quality oversight of project staff on project activities and deliverables
Manage submittal, RFI, punch list, As built and contractor payment review processes
Lead project and progress meetings with all stakeholders and issue meeting minutes
Analyze change orders, prepare independent cost estimates, make recommendation to project owners, and prepare all associated documentation
Review construction schedules and make recommendations
Maintain a daily diary and project progress reporting
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or similar field
CCM or PE License in DC, MD or VA
8 years of roadway, bridge and/or transit-related construction experience, including 5 years of direct on-site management of similar construction projects
Solid knowledge of DDOT, VDOT, and local utility agency standards and specifications
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Experience with local rail/transit agencies including VRE and WMATA is a plus
Compensation Range:
