Job Description:

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Manage multiple concurrent construction projects from cradle to grave. Perform daily field management of construction activities in coordination with safety management and quality control management. Assist in construction drawings review, and preparation of construction estimates and schedules.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage multiple concurrent construction projects from cradle to grave assisting in drawing review, estimating, safety, quality, and daily field management and coordination.
  • Serves as the government’s primary point of contact for field matters during the construction phase. Interface with Quality Assurance team and end use customers as needed.
  • Create subcontractor requisitions and scopes of work for procurement of subcontracts by the procurement team. Lead pre-bid job walks with bidders.
  • Create material purchase requests for self-performed work items.
  • Interface with internal Safety Management, Quality Management, Construction Manager and in-house construction craft personnel.
  • Work with Safety/Quality management to ensure project sites and activities are compliant with OSHA, NASA, and Parsons Safety and Quality standards.
  • Coordinate submission of NASA Badge requests as needed.
  • Manage daily operations and coordination of subcontractor activity.
  • Coordinate construction activities with in-house work force and subcontractor(s).
  • Initiate material submittals and or review subcontractor submittals prior to formal submission for government approval.
  • Manage As-Built documentation by the various trades and consolidate the formal submission for approval.
  • Participate in the creation of the project construction schedule.  Manage the project activities to meet the approved construction schedule.
  • Actively participate in the government lead project progress meetings.
  • Submit and coordinate Utility Outage Requests.
  • Coordinates permits, clearances, and testing through Parsons QC department. 
  • Coordinate receipt and review of subcontractor JHAs prior to the start of work activity.
  • Issue Hot Work Permits as necessary.
  • Resolves field changes and modifications.
  • Provides input to the draft Schedule of Values, work percentage complete, invoice amounts each month, nonperformance, and potential modifications.
  • Provides timely and accurate feedback information for reports. Provides effective communication to administrative staff and senior management on project status to allow information to be put into status reports.
  • Work with Quality Control team to ensure all work is completed and project closeout paperwork is in place.

  • Supervision Received - Construction Manager; Project Manager
  • Supervision Given - Lower-level Construction Engineers/Specialists and other technical personnel (technical guidance only)
  • Internal Contacts - All employees on project
  • External Contacts - Suppliers; Subcontractors; Client



EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of 10 to 15 years’ experience in construction field management of commercial and or government multi-disciplined projects.  Bachelor's Degree in engineering or construction-related field preferred but not required.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

Requires a comprehensive knowledge of construction-related processes, as well as industry practices. Requires excellent written and oral communication skills.  Proficiency in basic computer skills and drawing interpretation is required. Familiarity with CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with construction, and the proven ability for performing in a lead capacity on a project are required.

Salary Range: $72,900.00 - $127,600.00
