Job Description:

This position is responsible for both routine and specialized duties related to all aspects of concrete work. Must be familiar with and able to work with all standard types of concrete and modified concrete products that include but are not limited to, epoxy motor, acrylic admixtures, caulking and self leveling products. Must be able to install/repair steps, curbs, gutters, roadways, drainage structures such as catch basis, closed boxes, outfalls and inlets using block work as well as formed and poured in place structures.

Job Duties:

45%- Perform all aspects of concrete form, placement, finish, and cleanup work to include, but not be limited to: excavation work (hand work, digging work, direct machine operators to include backhoe, trencher, bobcat, etc.), form work ( flat work/ assist carpenters with more complex work); finish work (screeding/ floating/ broom finishing/ skim coating/backfilling/debris removal). Clean up (breaking forms/sack, rub finishing, coating /backfilling/debris removal).

40%- Plan and organize activity crew of Concrete Finisher and Equipment Operators in the absence of or in assistance to a Foreman. This activity may include but not be limited to, figuring quantities, and making calls for ready mix cement, order and/or picking up materials, completing punch list items, estimating labor and materials for jobs, setting daily assignments, communication with manager.

15%- Operate specialized equipment to remove existing concrete and to reinforce concrete in preparation for placement to include, but not limited to, self- propelled concrete cutting machine, hand operated concrete saw, concrete drill, jack hammers of all types and sizes including small electric and large backhoe mounted, large industrial air compressor. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

One year of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been on-the-job experience:

Three years of experience or training in the concrete finishing trade.

Special or Physical Qualifications:

  • This position requires a valid driver's license, will require an MVR, and is subject to drug screens per PM-33/PS-67/FASOP HR-04.

  • This position is classified as a safety and security-sensitive position. These positions are subject to drug screens per PS-67/FASOP HR-04.

  • This position is considered emergency essential and may be required to report to campus in times of emergency and/or closure per PS-18.

  • This position will require a physical evaluation based on the physical demands required.
