The Compliance Manager actively plays a key leadership role in ensuring the Company, its employees, and business units operate in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards, and uphold the highest standards of integrity and transparency. The incumbent is responsible for providing practical, timely, and high-quality compliance counsel to all of the Company’s employees and departments, as well as to external parties upon request. Job responsibilities are not limited to those outlined below; they may expand as needed with the evolution of the Company and the role.

Reports to the Vice President, Compliance

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing substantive advice on compliance governing all business lines; providing analysis and counsel on compliance issues
  • Proactively manage a high volume of incoming compliance reports and project manage complex cases and investigations to successful resolution
  • Independently investigate and act on matters related to healthcare compliance, including the ability to administer internal investigations and any resulting corrective actions with all company departments
  • Prepare thorough compliance reports and presentations (including statistical analysis of issue reporting) for submission to management, Compliance Committees, and Amplity clients as necessary
  • Maintain the Company’s compliance program structure to reasonably ensure adherence to applicable federal and state rules and regulations related to healthcare fraud and abuse
  • Assist with the Company’s contracting needs related to business activities
  • Conduct research to address regulatory requirements at the state and federal levels
  • Responsible for providing substantive advice on federal and state-specific transparency compliance requirements; providing analysis and counsel on compliance issues
  • Lead the end-to-end management of HCP/HCO transfers of value, ensuring compliant auditing, training, and aggregate spend reporting in alignment with client requirements
  • Develop, coordinate, and participate in a multifaceted educational and training program that focuses on the elements of the compliance program, and seek to ensure that all employees are knowledgeable of, and comply with, pertinent federal and state standards
  • Create effective policies for appropriate response to non-compliant behavior by company employees, vendors, and customers
  • Interact with a variety of employees at different job levels
  • Present to and train individuals on intricate compliance issues
  • Champion a comprehensive compliance process that is fully integrated with other Company functions and the Company’s culture
  • Active commitment to the identification and appropriate resolution of all compliance issues in an expedient manner

Knowledge & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3+yrs experience with healthcare laws and regulations, including federal, state, and local requirements (e.g., HIPAA, Anti-Kickback Statute, Fraud and Abuse laws, transparency, and privacy).
  • Professional, confident manner and poised and articulate demeanor
  • Experience in presenting and training to a variety of individuals using a range of different delivery methods
  • Experience developing and coordinating multifaceted educational and training programs focusing on compliance program required
  • Experience managing a high volume of compliance reports required
  • Experience in project management of complex compliance cases and investigations required
  • Intermediate knowledge of the MS Office suite, including MS Projects, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Strong human relations skills and able to work effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to travel
