Develops and maintains all necessary compliance policies and procedures for organizational area. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:
Interprets, implements, and administers compliance policies, procedures and practices to ensure proper risk mitigation for functional area in the business.
Provides thought leadership in driving ongoing improvements in compliance and creating a compliance culture.
Directs the development and implementation of compliance programs, mechanisms, reports and protocols.
Provides compliance or technical subject matter expertise in support of business or corporate strategic initiatives and in developing training programs.
Drives business unit efforts to resolve identified internal and/or external compliance issues and assesses the effectiveness of mitigation efforts. Ensures organizational compliance with regulations and regulatory reporting requirements.
Communicates with functional area management regarding the importance of compliance and CNA’s risk culture.
Investigates and resolves complex compliance problems and responds to questions from internal sources and regulatory agencies.
Keeps current on state/territory regulations and issues, industry activity and trends. May represent company in industry trade groups.
May perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
1. Senior level knowledge of regulatory compliance, with specific insurance compliance knowledge highly preferred.
2. Ability to achieve results by taking a proactive long-term view of business goals and objectives.
3. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to effectively plan and direct multiple projects.
4. Excellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to
effectively interact with internal and external business partners.
5. Ability to exercise professional judgment and assume responsibility for decisions which have an impact on people and quality of service
6. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.
Education & Experience:
1. Bachelor's degree with Master's preferred in a related discipline, or equivalent.
2. Typically a minimum of ten years of related work experience.

In certain jurisdictions, CNA is legally required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. In District of Columbia, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York and Washington, the national base pay range for this job level is $97,000 to $189,000 annually. Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
