Purpose:
The Competitive Insights and Strategy Analyst will support Lilly's Therapeutic Areas by gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing information from the external landscape to inform strategic decisions. This role focuses on delivering timely, accurate, and actionable insights while building foundational expertise in disease states and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Research & Analysis
Monitor the external landscape to identify and track relevant scientific and business developments
Gather and analyze publicly available information from multiple sources including scientific literature, conferences, and business communications
Analyze and synthesize data to identify trends, patterns, and insights relevant to therapeutic strategies
Develop concise summaries and reports that inform stakeholders of key external developments
Apply sound judgment to prioritize information and escalate critical insights promptly
Maintain organized information systems to ensure data is current and accessible
Collaboration & Communication
Partner with team members and stakeholders to ensure alignment on deliverables and timelines
Build relationships within the team and across the organization to leverage expertise and improve efficiency
Communicate findings clearly and accurately through written summaries, presentations, and stakeholder updates
Seek and incorporate feedback to improve delivery quality and timeliness
Project Support
Contribute to projects and initiatives under guidance from senior team members
Maintain attention to detail and accuracy in all deliverables
Support scientific conference activities including planning, attendance, information gathering, and post-meeting summaries
Continuous Learning
Develop knowledge of Lilly's strategies and the broader therapeutic landscape
Demonstrate curiosity and initiative to learn new tools, technologies, and best practices
Participate in team discussions and training to strengthen technical and analytical skills
Additional Requirements:
Role may periodically require calls outside of core hours to facilitate conversations with team members and business partners in different time zones
Travel < 10%; Attendance at select conferences and/or meetings may be required
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in a scientific or health-related field
Minimum of 3 years of work experience in the pharmaceutical industry, drug development, or project management and/or product development
Additional Preferences:
Advanced degree in life sciences, or related field
Knowledge of disease areas, treatment and drug development landscape
Experience in data analysis and visualization, patent analysis, scientific research, or healthcare analytics
Strong problem-solving skills and intellectual curiosity
Effective collaboration skills and ability to work in geographically dispersed teams
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Adaptability to changing priorities and business needs
Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver on time in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
