Essential duties & responsibilities:

Strategic Communications and Reputation Management:

  • Develops and implements communications strategies aligned with divisional goals to promote and protect Stryker’s business and reputation among internal and external audiences.
  • Brings external insights into the business, shapes and refines strategies to enhance communications outcomes.
  • Identifies gaps and implements processes to improve communications effectiveness.
  • Shares communications best practices with businesses, including communications strategies and plans drive greater consistency and effectiveness.
  • Supports the company’s efforts to identify and manage reputational issues in the business.
  • Stays connected to company-level crisis management team, plans and protocols.
  • Leads crisis communications response in the event of issues and crises.
  • Implements crisis management tools and best practices and identify opportunities for evolving. 

Marketing Communications, External engagement & PR

  • Enables business growth by driving therapy and patient awareness initiatives and strong product communications.
  • Integrates PR and media strategy as a commercial enabler in partnership with business leaders, particularly within MedTech and healthcare.
  • Manages media relationships and external inquiries.
  • Leads divisional campaigns targeted at external audiences in collaboration with Marketing.
  • Builds and sustains a consistent brand voice across corporate, business, and talent communications.
  • Develops high-quality communication assets including press releases, thought leadership, executive content, blogs, and campaign copy.
  • Strengthens executive visibility through industry forums, media engagement, and strategic speaking opportunities.

Internal Communications:

  • Crafts and delivers compelling internal messaging that drives employee engagement around divisional strategy, vision, leadership updates, and organizational shifts.
  • Leads and supports key internal forums including town halls, leadership meetings, annual sales meetings, strategic planning sessions, and global leadership visits.
  • Develops, maintains, and optimizes internal communications channels, ensuring strong connectivity with enterprise-wide messaging.
  • Partners with senior leadership to translate strategy into clear, actionable communication that aligns teams and reinforces culture.
  • Develop, maintain and optimize internal channels and ensure connectivity to rest of the company.

Employer Branding

  • Develops and executes a structured employer branding roadmap aligned with talent strategy and company culture.
  • Strengthens presence across LinkedIn, Glassdoor, and other talent platforms; partners with HR on GPTW and employer recognition initiatives.
  • Supports campus engagement and talent pipeline programs through targeted brand-building efforts.
  • Partners with HR and business leaders to shape narratives that reinforce culture, employee advocacy, DE&I initiatives, and workplace achievements.
  • Drives campaigns that showcase employee stories, career progression, and organizational impact.

Digital Communications & Digital Marketing

  • Lead the digital communications strategy across web, social media, and internal digital platforms.
  • Manage content calendars, digital storytelling, and multimedia assets to enhance engagement.
  • Manage Stryker India and Patient websites.
  • Work with analytics tools to measure channel effectiveness and optimize content performance.
  • Oversee digital marketing campaigns for key initiatives as applicable (events, product updates, employer branding, leadership visibility etc.).

Stakeholder Engagement and operating excellence

  • Collaborates with commercial, cross-functional teams and global communications team to implement strategic communications programs aligned with divisional and business goals.
  • Shapes messaging and other content for senior leaders for internal and external activities.
  • Writes and edits high-impact content for various internal and external channels, such as newsletters, messages from VP/GMs, townhall presentations.
  • Continuously optimizes strategies based on insights and feedback.
  • Works collaboratively with communications leads in and outside of APAC to build communications capabilities and advance opportunities that impact business goals.
  • Manages third party communication consultants and agency partners as needed.
  • Holds excellent standards on quality of work and thinking.
  • Works independently with resourcefulness and superb project management skills.
  • Brings great energy to the work and inspires trust and credibility among teams and wider stakeholders.

Team management

  • Leads, coaches, and develops a high-performing communications team of two direct reports, setting clear priorities, performance expectations, and growth plans aligned with business objectives.
  • Provides strategic direction while empowering team members with ownership, ensuring strong execution, accountability, and continuous capability building.
  • Fosters a collaborative, high-trust team culture and optimizes workload planning, resource allocation, and agency partnerships to deliver impact at scale.

Qualifications & experience:

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience
  • Previous People Management experience
  • Excellent storytelling, writing, and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while delivering on established timelines
  • Ability to be persuasive in the absence of organizational authority
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
  • Has experience working in regional settings preferred
  • Has experience working in multi-national settings preferred
  • Travel Percentage: 20%
