Role Overview
At Right Formula, we leverage the power of sport to create extraordinary activations and innovative campaigns that deliver award-winning work and long-term clients.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for a talented and dynamic Communications Manager to work across high-level projects and reporting into the Communications Director. This person will be passionate about sport, with particular interest in motorsport. Experience and existing strong media contacts in Formula 1 would be a bonus.
The role will be based at Right Formula’s offices in Battersea, London, and will involve regular contact with clients, providing support across all elements of communications. International travel will be required as part of the role.
Objectives
• Manage the development and execution of PR and Communications strategy as agreed with the relevant client and Right Formula
• Use knowledge and skills to deliver outstanding client servicing through innovative and effective PR and Communications
• Build a trusted relationship with the client and act as a strategic communication advisor
• Support the retention and growth of the client account through PR and Communications planning and delivery
• Cultivate relationships with influential print, digital and broadcast journalists and/or thought leaders within the sports sector
• Work alongside the Communications Director in managing the client
Key Responsibilities
• Day-to-day management of client’s press office and PR and Communication objectives as they link to the overall partnership ambition
• Deliver innovative and effective communication and PR strategies and campaigns
• Pro-active leadership of the PR and Communications strategy and its implementation that encourages best in class performance
• Generate accurate analysis and media coverage reports and status notifications, including feedback, ROI and ROO reporting on the relevant activity
• Manage the delivery of projects to a specific schedule and within the agreed budget
• Develop and pitch fresh and innovative ideas to current and potential clients
• Identify and develop growth opportunities for Right Formula
Skills And Experience
• Significant experience in public relations, either in-house or in an agency, with proven experience at Communications Exec or Communications Manager level
• A track record of developing and delivering communication strategies
• Experience of working closely with F1 journalists and responding to media requests
• The capacity to multi-task, managing time, resources and budgets appropriately across multiple activities
• First class inter-personal skills, with the ability to develop relationships with media representatives
• A demonstrated understanding of the role sponsorship plays within the marketing mix
• A persuasive and confident approach to developing and delivering PR and Communications elements to partnership activation
• A solid background in sports PR and Communications with an understanding of the F1 media landscape and key contacts
• Proven track record of building and managing budgets
• Strong attention to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills
• Enthusiasm, energy and an innovative approach to the role
• The willingness to note relevant trends, learn new skills and develop creative ideas
• Ability to work independently while delivering high quality work on deadline
• Willingness to work flexible work hours, including weekends
• Proven track record in winning media coverage for clients and delivering communications strategies
• Excellent writing skills, with the ability to craft compelling copy
• Knowledge of key media covering sport, especially in the UK and US
• Highly motivated and flexible to work within a small team, helping out with other workloads and new business pitches as required
• Knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and metrics
• Excellent organisational skills with the confidence to manage different projects
