We’re seeking a passionate Communications and Events Specialist to join the BlueCare Retirement Living team.
This newly created role is your opportunity to lead the development and delivery of communications strategies that connect, inform and inspire our retirement living residents, their families, and our internal teams. With a strong focus on internal and resident communications, you'll also help plan and bring to life events and activities that promote wellbeing and community engagement.
Reporting to the Marketing Manager and working closely with the Digital Marketing Manager and Operations teams, you'll ensure that all communications and activities reflect the BlueCare and UnitingCare brands and support our mission of enriching lives.
Key responsibilities will include:
Working closely with the Digital Marketing Manager to assist in creating engaging, multi-channel content that supports marketing campaigns (predominantly through social channels) , operational updates, and resident programs
Develop and implement internal and resident communications strategies that increase awareness, engagement, and connection across our Retirement Living communities.
Collaborate with Village Managers to plan and promote a meaningful annual program of events and activities, aligned with resident interests and wellbeing.
Support the delivery of the resident activities and wellness program where required, including event promotion, logistics coordination, materials development, and budget tracking.
Manage communications and promotional campaigns for resident and community events, from concept development through to execution.
Assist with internal stakeholder communications, ensuring alignment across all business objectives
What makes a difference for us
You’re a creative and strategic communicator with a heart for community and a drive to make a difference. You’ll bring strong writing skills, excellent stakeholder engagement, and the ability to manage multiple projects with confidence. Ideally, you’ll also have:
Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Marketing, Event Management or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a communications-focused role, ideally with some event coordination exposure.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work with diverse stakeholders.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Experience in developing and delivering event programs for varied audiences.
Experience in not-for-profit, aged care, or community services sectors.
An understanding of the needs and interests of older adults and how to foster community connection and wellbeing.
