Simmons Bank Credit Underwriting Internship

Location: In Person - Columbia, MO

Internship Duration: June 1, 2026 – August 7, 2026

Hours: Summer interns typically work Monday – Friday 8-5PM; however, schedules can be adjusted as needed with your leader.

An internship at Simmons Bank provides a current college student an opportunity to receive work experience to complement their course work.  The work will be related to their major or professional interest.  A Simmons Sidekick will guide the intern and offer day to day advice on how to navigate the business or solve challenging problems.  Simmons will benefit from the internship as real work or valuable projects are completed during the course of the internship.  The bank also uses the internship experience as a way to recruit top college talent into the bank.

Key Responsibilities

• Working on one or more key projects.
• Supporting commercial bankers with client relationship management activities.
• Assisting with key banking tasks, process audits, or reports.
• Conducting research and analysis to assist in credit underwriting and portfolio management.
• Preparing presentations, reports, and documentation for internal and client meetings.
• Participating in team meetings and contributing ideas to improve processes and client service.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree, with at least junior standing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent time management, project management, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Positive attitude, ability to learn quickly, and a team-oriented mindset.
• Interest in commercial banking, financial analysis, and client relationship management.
