We are looking for a Commercial Analyst to join our exciting team! This role provides analytical, financial, market research and budget support to the Westcoast Commercial Team. The position assists with asset performance monitoring, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting activities under the guidance of senior analysts and managers. This entry level role is intended to build foundational knowledge of pipeline commercial operations, asset management processes, and regulatory frameworks while contributing to team deliverables through analysis and reporting.

What You Will Do:

  • Support cross‑functional working groups by preparing analysis, materials, and documentation that contribute to the development and implementation of Westcoast’s Pipeline Asset Performance strategies.

  • Work with internal personnel (Asset Performance/ Asset Management / Operations / Integrity / Projects / Regulatory / Legal / Finance and other Optimization Teams) to aligning objectives to achieve a common goal of maximizing asset performance.

  • Support the development of internal budgets, including the Long Range Plan and 5‑year budget . Assist with Budget / Actual / Forecast comparisons by preparing analysis and highlighting variances for review by senior team members.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of new customer service offerings by coordinating internal inputs, supporting tariff documentation, and preparing presentation materials. Participation in external engagements would occur alongside senior team members.

  • Support regulatory and CER related activities by gathering data, preparing analysis, and assisting with documentation related to toll design, tariff adjustments, and hearing preparation under direction of senior analysts.

  • Prepare draft internal reviews related to business development, capacity, contracts and system design assumptions.

  • Assist in developing supporting analysis and materials for options and recommendations prepared by senior team members.

  • Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of business system processes and reporting.

  • Assist in the preparation of analysis and materials for new and existing capital initiatives.

Who You Are:

Required:

  • Post-secondary degree in Business, Engineering or related area.

  • With limited previous experience OR this role may be filled with a senior level administrator with five or more years of experience.

  • Demonstrated creativity to develop and implement innovative solutions.

  • Proven ability to take initiative, able to work independently with little direction.

  • Strong financial, analytical, communication, organizational and personnel management skills.

  • Interpersonal skills (strong written and oral communication skills), tact and diplomacy required.

  • Ability to effectively influence stakeholders.

  • Offer intellectual curiosity, good judgement, and a track record of turning analysis into action.

  • Strong attention to detail.

Preferred:

  • A solid practical working knowledge of physical operations, financials, economics, and business agreements.

  • Previous PowerBI and modelling experience.

  • Previous pipeline industry experience.

  • Previous in depth and hands-on experience in analytics.

  • Commercial and Operational knowledge of Westcoast.

  • Office working environment with minimal travel required.
