Organization & Team Overview
The suite of Construction and Design Tools (P2, ECAF, Iris, ROCI, etc.) supports nationwide network construction and operations, enabling workflow orchestration, reporting, analytics, and capacity planning. This role is ideal for students interested in program management, portfolio management, delivery, change management, and strategic coordination across technology teams.
As a Technical Program & Portfolio Management Co‑Op, you will support program-level planning, portfolio visibility, progress tracking, and cross-team alignment across the ION team’s initiatives. You will assist in organizing complex workstreams, ensuring consistent reporting, assessing risks and dependencies, and helping delivery teams stay aligned with the larger organizational goals. You will also assist with building out Smartsheet dashboards and reports to support a broader understanding of our portfolio commitments
This is not a coding role. Instead, you will learn how large-scale technology initiatives are managed and delivered within an enterprise.
What are some interesting problems the student will work on?
The ION team receives a lot of asks every quarter. It’s always a question of demand versus capacity. How can we use our historical analytics and data from the portfolio process and inform our true capacity for work?
How do we ensure that before a team receives an ask, it has all the relevant/necessary details to inform priority and relevance.
This role will sit at the intersection of business strategy, delivery and stakeholder management. One of the data questions that this co-op can assist with is how often “urgent” requests disrupt planned work (or our Plan of Record).
Where can this student make an impact?
Strengthening Delivery Visibility across the program and portfolio and Improving Portfolio-level Reporting and Decision Support: Portfolio management requires a lot of data. A detail-oriented intern can help with data consistency and insight generation.
Enhancing Cross-Team Coordination: This co-op will sit across multiple teams and be able to identify areas of interdependencies.
Optimizing Processes and Documentation: An intern with a fresh perspective is uniquely positioned to re-envision outdated or confusing processes.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Program Management Support
- Assist program managers with planning and tracking multi-sprint or multi-quarter initiatives
- Support preparation and facilitation of program ceremonies
- Maintain program artifacts such as timelines, CRAID logs, and status dashboards
- Help identify cross-team dependencies and surface risks or blockers
Portfolio Management & Governance
- Support the maintenance of portfolio-level views, including program and initiative status, priority alignment, and resource considerations
- Assist in collecting data from delivery teams to build accurate portfolio reporting
- Help standardize documentation across teams (requirements, intake forms, program updates, etc.)
- Participate in portfolio review meetings and help prepare presentations and summaries
- Track progress toward key milestones and produce recurring and ad hoc reports
- Organize cross-functional information in Confluence and other knowledge-sharing tools
- Use Smartsheet, or similar tools to track work, update tasks, and ensure data accuracy
- Support process improvement efforts to enhance visibility, forecasting, or delivery efficiency

Minimum Qualifications and Eligibility Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from Drexel University, with a cooperative learning track.
- Available to work 40 hours per week for 6 months starting September 22, 2026, through March 26, 2027.
- Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs
- Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting

Compensation
Base Pay: $32.00
Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Comcast provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a Commission under the terms of an applicable plan, while most non-sales positions are eligible for a Bonus.
