As a Machinist (Programming / Setup), you will help build the precision components that keep high-performance manufacturing equipment running safely and reliably for customers around the world. You will join Coperion, a Hillenbrand company, in Whitewater, Wisconsin, where we design, manufacture, and support compounding and extrusion systems, plus related aftermarket and service solutions. Your work will strengthen quality, throughput, and long-term reliability, while supporting disciplined execution and continuous improvement that drives sustainable growth.
Location: Whitewater, WI
Shift: 1st Shift
Schedule: Mon - Thurs (6a - 3p) and Fridays (6a-12p) (40 hours)
Overtime: As needed (4:30a-3p) (45 hours)
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Program, set up, and run CNC machining operations, using G-code and M-code to produce precision parts that meet print requirements.
Set up, adjust, and operate CNC and manual equipment, including mills, lathes, drills, saws, and grinders, selecting appropriate tooling and workholding for safe, repeatable results.
Use Masac Technologies systems and shop tools to support consistent setups, stable processes, and efficient machining performance.
Verify conformance throughout the job by measuring and inspecting parts with precision instruments, documenting results, and addressing issues early.
Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and program-related problems, making disciplined adjustments to protect quality and reduce scrap.
Complete routine care and basic maintenance on equipment, and escalate complex issues with clear details to reduce downtime.
Support continuous improvement work that strengthens safety, quality, and delivery, and step in on broader manufacturing needs when required.

THE EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES NEEDED:
High school diploma or equivalent.
5–7 years of progressive machining experience, including CNC programming and setup in a production environment.
Working knowledge of G-code and M-code, including the ability to adjust offsets, feeds, speeds, and tool paths to meet specifications.
Ability to read and apply blueprints, bills of material (BOMs), and technical drawings to plan work and confirm requirements.
Proficiency with precision measurement tools and inspection methods to verify tolerances and finish requirements.
Hands-on skill with manual machine tools, hand tools, power tools, and basic fabrication equipment used to support setup and machining work.
Ability to contribute quickly with limited ramp-up, take ownership of quality, and work independently while collaborating well with others.
Commitment to safe work practices, including comfort working in a manufacturing environment that is not air-conditioned, and ability to work the posted schedule and overtime when needed.
