JOB TITLE:                    CNC OPERATOR

DEPARTMENT:           CNC

REPORTS TO:              CNC Supervisor                                   

JOB PURPOSE

Reporting to the CNC Supervisor, the role is responsible for setting up, programming, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce high-quality components safely, efficiently, and to specification. The position ensures accurate interpretation of engineering drawings, effective operation of lightly attended automated machining processes, ongoing inspection and adjustment of production runs, and full compliance with quality, housekeeping, and health and safety requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Operating CNC Machine
  • Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc.
  • Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
  • Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result
  • Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
  • Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality
  • Achieving competitive cycle times and production targets
  • Technical troubleshooting – machine and process
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Keep supervisor and/or QC informed of any issues
  • Maintain a clean, uncluttered work area
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations
  • Other associated tasks as assigned by the CNC Supervisor

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience as CNC operator
  • Skilled in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
  • Basic computer skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
  • A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach
  • Good communication skills & Teamwork
  • Fluent English is essential
