CNC Bending - Set up / Operator

Job Description:

Position Summary:

The CNC Bending operator is responsible for the setup, operation and training of new Operators on CNC Benders machine and other rotary draw bend machinery.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Setup of CNC and rotary draw bend machinery.
  • Operation of CNC and rotary draw bend machinery.
  • Provides guidance and instructions to Operators for the safe and productive operation of machinery.
  • Ensures all parts are built to customer specifications.
  • Reports in a timely manner any and all problems or abnormal conditions to the Shift Supervisor.
  • Ensures housekeeping and health and safety standards are maintained.
  • Adheres to all corporate and plant level rules and regulations.
  • Supports an attitude of teamwork and contributes to continuous improvements.
  • Understands the importance of quality and assists in the achievement and maintenance of IATF 16949 certification.
  • Understands the importance of the environment and assists in the achievement and maintenance of ISO 14001 certification.
  • Supports the BTO program.
  • Able to understand and read blueprints.
  • Capable of using micrometers and calipers.
  • Decisions are limited to shutting down the process and contacting the Shift Supervisor when the potential exists of producing bad parts.

Education and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with CNC bending specifically
  • Demonstrates on a continual basis, the ability to provide leadership and set examples for other employees.
  • Has a thorough working knowledge of the respective cell and capable of providing training to other employees.
  • Demonstrate a cooperative and committed attitude toward all employees, management and corporate objectives.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time on the manufacturing floor.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds on an occasional/regular basis.

Work Environment/Work Conditions:

  • Manufacturing atmosphere with long periods of standing.
  • Must wear proper personal protection equipment while on the manufacturing floor
  • Equipment used requires proper training on the potential for and avoidance of injury.
