Purpose and Overall Relevance: 

Collaborate with sourcing, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to develop industry-leading creative, functional, and cost-effective solutions for assigned concepts or categories. Responsible for all aspects of the colour and material mastering process—driving quality, innovation, and production feasibility for world-class products.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, revise and oversea Technical Packages for assigned projects, ensuring all requirements for aesthetics, proportion, manufacturing, and costing are met. 
  • Interpret design intent; provide alternative and supplementary solutions as a technical resource to stakeholders and factories. 
  • Guide all aspects of colour, material, and finish mastering, including analysis and approval of colour, material, finish, and grain to validate appearance and quality. 
  • Track and facilitate prototyping of multiple products. Identify and address manufacturing/costing issues and deliver against tight timelines. 
  • Manage multiple parallel-path projects and high-volume workloads in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Communicate status of material masters and prototypes to Design Quality, CMF Design, Procurement and Engineering teams and escalate risks where needed. 
  • Participate in global annual and long-term creative direction strategies to influence innovation. 
  • Present and communicate creative solutions clearly and effectively to stakeholders. 
  • Seek new design resources to elevate and inspire the design team. 
  • Review and approve development stages of sample execution. 
  • Develop supply base and track timelines to ensure materials are production ready. 
  • Support and implement tactical protocols, procedures, tools, and software to streamline the material mastering system. 
  • Distil complex Excel / Data into clear, visually compelling, single-slide summaries that quickly communicate the current project status to stakeholders. 

 

What you’ll bring: 

  • Bachelor's degree in design, Textiles, CMF, Industrial Design, Product Development or relevant discipline or equivalent experience. 
  • UK + Chinese Language.
  • Demonstrate high colour acuity and ability to articulate precise colour and appearance differences; pass the Munsell Hue Test with a superior score. 
  • Experience with colour quality evaluation using colour measurement tools, digital data, and visual analysis. 
  • Experience tracking supplier performance metrics and supporting corrective action plans to meet timing and quality goals. 
  • Proven ability to implement procedures and systems for tactical protocol. 
  • Pragmatic approach to facilitating creative projects, focusing on process and coordination rather than direct design execution. 
  • Excellent at building and maintaining external and internal relationships including travelling to suppliers. 
  • Bring an excellent knowledge of technical material knowledge to educate and influence the design team. 
  • Strong communication and organised skills; obsessive attention to detail. 
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to manage multiple projects with short timelines. 
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 
  • Exceptional visual communication skills - can extract meaning from raw data and translate it into understandable, actionable graphics that fit onto a single slide.
