Bank of Montreal seeks CM Director-IC Corporate Banking II in New York, NY to use expertise in financial markets to cultivate relationships with new and existing clients and develop new client relationships. Deliver and institute cross-selling initiatives to clients across all areas of the firm and transition them into significant sales. Operate as key member of the deal team with effort to maximize sector penetration and returns. Create pitch books for clients with respect to financial solutions and lead/participate in presentations to clients. Monitor client, client industry, and regulatory agencies for potential changes which may affect the client's portfolio and business needs. Prepare credit documentation (applications, memoranda, presentations) for internal and external stakeholders. Prepare/oversee delivery of creative and timely pitches for clients. Provide deal structuring and negotiate transactions with clients. Lead underwriting due diligence. Manage process of compliance checks, including AML and KYC. Obtain credit concurrence and coordinate pricing approval as a client advocate. Develop and leverage relationships across lines of business, with executive and external clients to foster and support coordination. Generate financial models/analyses as business needs and industry requirements dictate. Apply appropriate technical concepts and completes/leads consistent and reliable technical and financial reports/analyses to support client deliverables. Balance the bank's risk appetite with the client needs in making recommendations/proposals. Evaluate risk-return trade-offs and proactively take accountability for risks assumed. Review and guide work of team members to deliver business results. Monitor and manage a portfolio of high-risk (sub-investment grade) loans and credit exposures to financial investor portfolio companies and make recommendations with respect to internal risk ratings and new lending and ancillary credit exposure authorizations to Credit Risk Officers. Manage preparation of Credit and Underwriting Memos and present new lending and underwriting opportunities to Credit and Underwriting Committees.

Requirements:

Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus 5 years of experience as Associate/Manager/VP Corporate Banking or Commercial Banking or related occupation negotiating and structuring financial transactions, conducting credit and underwriting analysis, and managing a portfolio of corporate loans in an investment banking and/or corporate lending environment or, alternatively, Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus 7 years of experience as Associate/Manager/VP Corporate Banking or Commercial Banking or related occupation negotiating and structuring financial transactions, conducting credit and underwriting analysis, and managing a portfolio of corporate loans in an investment banking and/or corporate lending environment. Experience must include (quantitative requirements not applicable to this section): utilizing Excel financial and cash flow modeling to develop and analyze sensitivities and scenarios; utilizing Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel to develop formatting tools, charts, pivot tables, and complex formulas; managing loan portfolios and in compliance with credit risk management principles and policy utilizing tools and systems including Adaptiv and Livelink; negotiating credit agreements and related loan documentation for broadly syndicated loan market or direct lending market; and, managing deal teams conducting underwriting diligence and analysis through completion of credit application approval process.
