Seize your opportunity to make a personal impact as a Senior Cloud Engineer supporting the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Cloud Operations and Maintenance (CCOM) program.
As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will support cloud platform services that enable CMS mission operations. Your work will help maintain secure, reliable, and scalable cloud environments that application teams depend on across the program.
Operate and manage AWS cloud infrastructure including compute, networking, storage, and platform services that support CMS cloud program environments
Work closely with other cloud engineers, operations staff, and customer teams to deliver and improve cloud services
Assist the team in troubleshooting issues, identifying root causes, and resolving challenges across cloud environments
Contribute to a collaborative team that supports multiple tenants and shared platform capabilities
Support day-to-day cloud operations, capacity management, and activities that maintain stable and reliable cloud environments
Use AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Route 53, ECS/EKS, and IAM to provision, configure, and enhance cloud solutions
Contribute to automation, monitoring, and improvements that increase the performance, reliability, and scalability of cloud environments
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, or work experience
Required Experience: 5+ years of related experience in cloud operations, infrastructure engineering, or system administration
Required Technical Skills: Experience with AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM), Linux system administration, cloud operations, troubleshooting
Security Clearance Level: Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
Required Skills and Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication, ability to work collaboratively across teams, and ability to support operational workloads
Preferred Skills: Bachelors degree, AWS certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Associate, experience with infrastructure as code and automation tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation, experience with monitoring and logging tools
Location: Remote 100% (USA – MD Home Office)
Residency Requirement: Applicants shall have lived in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years prior to submitting an application for a Federal ID Card.

The likely salary range for this position is $95,200 - $128,800. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.Scheduled Weekly Hours:
