The Opportunity:
Manage and optimize our organization's data infrastructure while also overseeing general system administration tasks. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of our databases and systems, utilizing a variety of technologies including (but not limited to) SQL, Azure SQL, Azure SQL Machine Learning, PostgreSQL, MySQL and ColdFusion. System administration skills will revolve heavily around initial creation of databases and working with the customer to fine tune configurations as needed. Continuous customer support to include copying databases and supplying users with data as needed. Expertise in database administration will be pivotal in maintaining seamless operations, troubleshooting issues, and implementing enhancements to support our business objectives.
Responsibilities:
The candidate will analyze current technologies and recommend a cutting-edge solution to fulfill current and future requirements based on the needs of the customers. In this position the candidate will also participate in, and contribute to the success of the analysis, planning, deployment, test, and integration of existing and novel DevSecOps technologies into the Cloud and Hybrid Cloud infrastructure.
Qualifications:
Candidate MUST be DoD 8140 DCWF compliant/qualified and have IAT Level 2 credentials, including baseline cyber certificate(s) and applicable certifications, which include common operating environment training.
Required:
Active security clearance
Security+ and IAT Level II, DoD 8140 compliant
Computing environment certification/training
7+ years experience in Database Management Systems with proficiency in multiple database platforms to include MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL
Experience working Database Management in various environments to include on-premises, Azure hybrid cloud and Azure cloud (Azure SQL, Azure SQL ML)
Experience with SQL SSRS and SSIS
Experience with security patching for databases.
Experience in both various platforms to include Microsoft and Linux
Skilled with database query optimization and performance tuning (based on customer needs)
Strong Troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve database-related issues
Proven ability with backup and recovery of databases
Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash and PowerShell to automate routine tasks and processes
Experience utilizing DISA STIGs and/or security best database implementation and security practices (Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS) for securing databases
Experience with cloud computing concepts and best practices
Experience with IaaS and PaaS deployments
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members, stakeholders, and clients
Proficiency in documenting database schemas, configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps in clear and understandable language
Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage time efficiently, especially in handling multiple projects simultaneously
Flexibility to adapt to evolving technologies, methodologies, and business requirements in the dynamic field of database administration
Capability to engage with clients or end-users to understand their database requirements, explain technical solutions, and address concerns in a language they understand
Desired:
Use of Jira, Jira Service Desk and Confluence for planning and task tracking
Knowledge of AWS Cloud and AWS RDS
Experience with MongoDB administration
Some working experience or basic understanding of ColdFusion/Tomcat/IIS technologies
Implementations to include build agent configurations
Knowledge of disaster recovery strategies
Knowledge of monitoring and alerting mechanisms
Knowledge of user access management
Experience with auditing and compliance standards
Experience with automation using Ansible
Version control using Git for database scripts and configurations

Pay Range:
There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
