Summary:
Provides pharmaceutical care for patients in a specialty clinical area. Supports professional development of clinical pharmacists, students and/or residents.Responsibilities:
Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and provides customer service to internal and external customers.Coordinates and supervises daily staffing, scheduling, and workflows to optimize operational efficiency.Identifies and implements recommendations for process improvement including cost effectiveness, operational efficiency, and inventory management.Assists the pharmacy leadership team in the management of operational and clinical pharmacy services.Provides orientation, training, and coaching to personnel. Assists with performance evaluations and corrective actions.Performs all clinical pharmacist roles and functions as needed.Monitors quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs. Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures and protocols to meet regulatory requirements from state, federal, and accrediting bodies.Manages and troubleshoots technology and automation resources to assure appropriateness of preparation, distribution, administration, and monitoring outcomes of the drug therapy process.Competencies:

Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Required Work Experience: PGY2 residency or PGY1 residency/fellowship plus one (1) year of clinical experience in a specialty area or PGY1 residency/fellowship plus active board certification. Alternatively, active board certification plus three (3) years of clinical experience in a specialty area.
