Position Summary

The Mgr Sys Clinical Nutrition provides leadership and direction for acute and ambulatory clinical nutrition programs attending to adult and pediatric populations at all MHS locations. Responsible for achieving results through leading and developing clinical team members; is the primary liaison with medical and nursing staff, responsible for accreditation and regulatory readiness, ensures evidence-based standards of care through performance evaluations and improvement projects, oversees the planning, implementation and evaluation of new services, ensures patient safety and customer satisfaction by utilizing resources efficiently. Hospital-based leaders may have a dual matrixed reporting structure.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and directs the daily operations & workflows of the clinical nutrition teams and in alignment with the patient food service program, assuring smooth efficient processes are maintained.
  • Direct supervision of supervisors and frontline staff providing direction and guidance, and administering management functions within the provisions of MultiCare policies and standards and federal, state and local regulations.
  • Participates in the development of goals and objectives for the ongoing system integration process for Nutrition Services and Clinical Nutrition system wide, to include setting and maintaining updated key performance metrics.
  • Oversee and monitor the clinical and regulatory compliance of Nutrition Services system wide, to include quality assurance and continuous quality improvement programs.
  • Contributes to the success of the organization by meeting organizational competency expectations, continuously learning, and by performing other duties as needed or assigned
  • Coordinates the development and/or revision of education and training materials, including food-drug interaction, nutrition formulary, Nutrition standards of care, and Diet Manual.

Requirements:

  • Master degree in dietetics, nutrition, business or related field or enrolled in a master degree program within 90 days of hire
  • Registered Dietitian Credential (RD/RDN) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration
  • Certified Dietitian in the State of Washington within 60 days of hire
  • Five (5) years of experience in clinical medical nutrition therapy in acute and/or ambulatory care setting
  • Three (3) years of experience in supervisory or lead capacity

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $108,680.00 - $156,353.60 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
