Job Description:

About the role: 

We are inviting applications for an experienced Chef to work on a permanent part time basis at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba.

Duties include:

  • Preparation and cooking of food according to menu guidelines, standard recipes and food safety requirements

  • Participate in correct personal hygiene and food handling practices comply with the hospital’s HACCP based food safety program

  • Participate in food process including safe handling and storage, stock rotation, temperature, time and hygiene requirements.

  • Ability to be flexible with rostering

  • Be available for morning and afternoon shifts ranging from 5.30am – 7.30pm

Things that work for us:

  • Formal Chef qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in food handling for at least 2 years

  • Ability to make decisions and follow instructions

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Ability to cater to a wide range variety of sensitive dietary requirements

  • Must understand allergy management practices

  • Excellent communication with a positive friendly manger

  • Ability to work in a diverse workplace

  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment with docket system within room service model
