About the role
Xavier 9 North is an integrated, multi-disciplinary unit with 34 beds. Providing acute inpatient person-centered care to older people. The team evaluates and manages the physical, cognitive, functional and social issues of older adults
Responsible for the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of the clinical education needs of the staff in collaboration with the Nursing Unit Manager, Clinical Nurse Consultants. Medical Stream Manager and Allied Health members.
Ensuring all staff, both transient and permanent, have equitable access to educational support and resources to enhance their clinical competence. Responsible for ensuring that the education delivered is current and based on the best available evidence.
Ensuring evidence-based practice principles have been utilised in the development of policies and procedures within the clinical environment and broader organisation.
The Clinical Nurse Educator will also assist in a clinical role as required by the unit.
About you
Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency
Relevant clinical or education post-graduate qualifications and at least 12 months experience working in the relevant clinical area related to their qualifications, or four years post-registration experience including three years’ experience in the relevant specialist field
Certificate IV in workplace training and education or willingness to undertake within the first 12 months of employment
Demonstrated knowledge of innovative educational strategies, tools and approaches including e-learning
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within the interdisciplinary team and demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills
