About the Role
The Clinical Manager for the Pediatrics Specialty Clinic provides leadership, operational oversight, and strategic support across a wide range of pediatric specialty services. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality clinical care, supports daily operations, and nurtures a strong, team-centered culture.
Working collaboratively with the Clinical Operations Director and Section Chair, the Clinical Manager drives departmental initiatives, care model redesign, and continued growth of pediatric specialty services. Approximately 30% of this role focuses on project and process-improvement work, including workflow optimization, access enhancement, and partnerships with external pediatric organizations.

What You'll Do
Provide daily operational oversight for clinical functions across Pediatrics Specialties.
Lead and support a team ~25 staff, including RNs, MAs, genetic counselors, scheduling specialists (remote), and support staff.
Oversee staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation across multiple pediatric specialties (e.g., Allergy, Endocrinology, GI, Pulmonary).
Lead and support projects related to clinical improvement, program development, and care model transformation.
Serve as a liaison with internal and external partners, including collaborations with UW and regional pediatric organizations.
Bring emotional intelligence and presence to daily leadership, supporting a team that values connection and trust
Schedule & Work Environment
Standard hours are 8:00am–4:30pm, with occasional 7:00am meetings.
On‑site leadership presence is essential—this team values physical visibility and relationship-building.
No weekends, holidays, or travel required.
Department is located in a newly renovated, welcoming, pediatric-friendly clinical space designed to support staff and families.
What You'll Need
Required
Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field
5–7 years of clinical or equivalent healthcare experience demonstrating leadership skills
Desired
Bachelor’s degree in a field related to clinical specialty
Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in the state of practice (strongly preferred)
1 year of management experience
Experience in program management, performance improvement, or clinical operations
