Responsible for overseeing and monitoring the implementation of Clinical Service programs and initiatives to support quality care and advancement in Inpatient Services. Works collaboratively with executive/senior leadership and other appropriate team members on strategic, organizational initiatives. Responsible for providing leadership, direction, and administration of activities relating to patient care, nursing practice, nursing education, provider relations and clinical development across Inpatient Services.

- Requires exceptional business knowledge specific to a Health Service, Ancillary & Medical Support or System Support as well as technical and operational capability to define and/or oversee program design in a broad area of responsibility.

Team Oversight, Leadership &Talent Management

- Manages a Health Service, Ancillary & Medical Support or System Support which may include multiple teams led by VPs, Senior Directors, Directors, and Managers
- Ensures appropriate selection, organization and leadership for major areas within the organization. Identifying servant leadership as a core skill required for success in all areas.
- Coaches and develops leadership talent. Invests in mentorship.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Commits to Servant Leadership, continuing to develop skills identified in the System’s Attitudes & Attributes.
- Responsible for driving, supporting, and modeling a culture focused on employee engagement, quality, patient safety, fiscal responsibility, and the overall patient experience.
- Strategizes and drives organizational process improvements. These may focus on innovative care delivery and operational models designed to improve clinical services, outcomes, patient throughput, and patient safety.
- Plans, develops, and implements evidence-based clinical programming and guidelines to support quality care outcomes.
- Works collaboratively with the Senior Vice President of Clinical Systems & Customer Experience for Inpatient Services to develop an annual strategic plan for the delivery of quality clinical services and ensures communication for seamless implementation.
- Plans, develops and implements programming/processes that promote compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
- Develops strategic partnerships within the System and with other health systems to promote collaboration on continuum of patient care.
- Promotes strategic partnerships with community organizations to improve patient outcomes and the health of the communities served.
- Develop strategic partnerships with colleges and universities to support professional development for clinicians and support recruitment efforts.
- Provides direction to and coordinates nurse leadership training and development to ensure that Inpatient Services is strategically positioned to offer clinical service models to meet needs of community and healthcare continuum.
- Fosters development and collaboration of inter-professional care team model among clinical consultants.
- Leads clinical emergency preparedness and response initiatives.
- Promotes the image and reputation of Inpatient Services and its skilled nursing centers throughout Georgia and beyond through active participation in State and National associations and committees.
- Serve as subject matter expert for clinical service education.
- Fosters an attitude of personal learning and organizational education among key leadership to strengthen leadership capabilities for clinical associates.
- Works collaboratively with other System leaders to support organizational/system efforts.
- Leads and directs Quality Assurance Performance Improvement initiatives as indicated.
- Ensures patient and family centered care is comprehensive, coordinated, and monitored for effectiveness through a quality improvement model. This should result in outcome measures that outperform national benchmark statistics in clinical areas.
- Communicates expectations, develops leaders, and advances the organization to meet needs and strategic priorities that are current and/or anticipated.
- Promotes the use and implementation of technology in order to streamline operations, facilitate communications, and optimize work processes.
- Promotes the image and reputation of the System by exhibiting servant leadership and providing direct and open lines of communication.
- Contributes to the work of committees, workgroups, project management, and other collaborative efforts of the System.
- Performs other duties as necessary to ensure the success of the System.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES

- Extensive knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations governing patient care and treatment and related services or activities
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration or related field and six year’s related work experience; or
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field and eight year’s related work experience.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides supervisory oversight for Director of Physician Practice Management, Director of Nursing – Traveler, Regulatory Services Director, Infection Preventionist, Clinical Support Specialist, Director of Nutritional Services and Vice President of Social & Activity Programs.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read, write and interpret documents in the English language.

- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of the organization.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram format.
