As the Clinical Compliance Specialist for the Oregon State Hospital (OSH), you will serve as the clinical compliance subject matter expert for the nursing specialty area to enforce regulatory compliance typical for credentialing. You will apply your nursing education and experience to enforce regulatory compliance on clinical matters in collaboration with leadership to provide your professional expertise to management and staff throughout the Oregon State Hospital system. This position requires in-depth clinical knowledge on complex compliance and quality-related activities as required by various federal, state and local regulatory agencies.

What We Are Looking For

Minimum Qualifications

These qualifications must be reflected in your application to be considered for this position.

Five years of experience doing administrative research that included compiling and evaluating facts to recommend management action or decide compliance or eligibility with program guidelines and regulations. Three of the five years must be above the technical support level.  College-level course work may substitute for experience on the basis of 45-quarter units per year, up to a maximum of three years,

OR                                                                                                                                   

A bachelor's degree in business or public administration or a related degree and two years of the specified experience,  

OR

A master’s degree in business or public administration or a related degree and one year of the specified experience.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in healthcare regulatory compliance, quality, or accreditation.

  • Experience with the Joint Commission, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Oregon Revised Statutes, Oregon Administrative Rules and other healthcare regulatory agencies is strongly preferred.

  • Experience interpreting regulatory laws, rules, and policies, and conducting compliance reviews/tracers.

  • Experience implementing quality and continuous improvement methods such as lean, six- sigma, and total quality management.

  • Experience working with methods of organizational, program, and statistical analysis.

  • Experience writing and analyzing general, statistical, and technical reports per the Joint Commission (JC) standards.

  • Knowledge of Hospital Quality Improvement programs.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and Adobe applications.

Preference Statement

Preference will be extended to applicants with a Registered Nurse license from the Oregon Board of Nursing

  • This announcement is for one, full-time, permanent, classified, represented Clinical Compliance Specialist (Compliance Specialist 3) based in Salem, Oregon.

  • Employment is contingent upon a criminal records check and drug screen that meets OHA criteria at the time of hire and throughout employment. OSH employees are required to have a criminal records check every two years.

  • The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying range. If the successful candidate qualifies for PERS, the salary range will increase by 6.95%. For more information, see the Classification and Compensation page.
