Job Description

Job Purpose:

The IFI Client Portfolio Manager (CPM) acts as an integral part of the portfolio management team and possesses deep knowledge of capital markets and the team’s investment philosophy and process across specified strategies. The CPM is regarded as a credible investment professionals who acts as the primary interface between our client-facing resources and the investment team. The CPM interacts with the portfolio management team daily to understand historical and current portfolio positioning, market conditions and portfolio themes. The CPM is able to communicate performance attribution, the rationale for specific holdings and portfolio activity, risk attributes, and views of the team clearly and succinctly to a variety of institutional clients and institutional / retail stakeholders. The CPM will maintain detailed knowledge of the competitive landscape/peer group, stay current on market trends and developments in all relevant distribution channels, and be able to clearly articulate what differentiates our products from the competition. The CPM acts in partnership with the Client Portfolio Analyst and Product Managers on business plans and marketing content across the product suite they represent.

Key Responsibilities / Duties: 

  • Grow and retain business by representing the investment team and key investment strategies to clients. 

  • Service existing clients via in-person meetings (on- and off-site), conference calls and board / investment committee meetings, as needed in place of Portfolio Managers, or in support of them.

  • Provide end-to-end client servicing such that institutional clients’ needs are met with the same high standards they come to expect with Invesco products.

  • Regularly reflect the investment team by communicating existing (and potential) investment strategies to clients. Provide portfolio updates and insights to drive client engagement and loyalty.

  • Drive the development of research, presentations and investment insights for clients. This includes monitoring key investment and industry trends, working with the thought leadership team to identifytopics that resonate with investors. This individual will leverage publications, speaking engagements, public relations and marketing channels to drive key messages into the market.

  • Attend and present at industry and client conferences including Invesco roundtables, industry events, and PR opportunities.

Secondary Responsibilities / Duties: 

  • Play a key role in developing institutional and wealth opportunities by working with the distribution teams to educate consultants, investment platform gatekeepers and prospects on investment grade and high yield investment strategies.

  • Develop and modify collateral including Finals presentations, DDQs, RFPs and due diligence meeting presentations as needed.

  • Build strong relationships with the Distribution teams supporting their efforts to execute an effective sales strategy.

Skills / Personal Attributes Required:

  • 10+ years of investment-related client-facing experience preferably covering U.S. investment grade and/or high yield strategies.

  • Experience working with investment platform research analysts, field level financial advisors, retirement plan gatekeepers, investment consultants and/or institutional investment committees for corporations, public entities, and/or endowments and foundations.

  • Deep investment expertise including an understanding of portfolio construction, risk drivers, market dynamics, and product-specific nuances.

  • entrepreneurial spirit, with a focus on continuous improvement, willingness to take risks, embrace and lead change, determination to find creative solutions to problems. Strong work ethic and drive to succeed.

  • Technical skills, including strong investment acumen, understanding of financial markets and economics, proficiency with Bloomberg, Microsoft Office, Morningstar and other software products and comfortability adopting AI tools to enhance productivity.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to collaborate and communicate well with others. Strong team player.

  • Expected at least 25-50% travel.

Formal Education:

  • Undergraduate degree required, preferably in business or related discipline.

  • MBA/CFA and/or direct money management experience preferred.

  • Series 7 and 63 required.
