Investigate and handle property damage claims related to Enbridge Gas facilities and assets, including underground natural gas structures, vehicles, buildings, and other items.
Collect supporting information such as sketches, photographs, signed statements, police reports, recorded statements, and witness interviews.
Prepare responses to information requests from third parties, other departments, legal counsel, insurance carriers, and brokers.
Coordinate the preparation of insurance claim packages following property losses.
Negotiate settlements with claimants, their insurance carriers, or attorneys concerning third-party damages to facilities and other property damage claims.
Occasionally attend field investigations with operations, damage prevention colleagues, and other involved parties.
Participate in the company’s litigation defense related to third-party damage of gas facilities.
Potential to develop into the management of third-party general liability claims for Enbridge Gas.
0 to 2 years of related experience.
Strong negotiation, organization, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in written and verbal communication.
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint).
Familiarity with the legal process regarding third-party claims, collections, and lawsuits.
Knowledge of construction excavation and site regulations, or a demonstrated ability to learn within six months.
Helpful understanding of tort concepts.
Proven ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate and detail work effectively.
Bachelor’s degree (may substitute years of experience for the preferred degree requirement).
Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:
Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to work in tight spaces.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
