Position Summary:
The Production engineering department, a global & progressive wing under Technology & Innovation division of Milacron, is currently seeking strong, results-oriented candidates for the position of Chief engineer/Engineering Manager to lead its Two platen machines at India.
Reporting solid-line to the Engineering Leader - Production, the role focuses on leading a team of mechanical engineers in designing, developing, and optimizing mechanical systems, components, and products. This role is responsible for technical excellence, project delivery, team development, cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring that all engineering activities meet organizational goals for quality, safety, reliability, and innovation.
Work you will do
Engineering Leadership & Execution of the product assigned
Lead and supervise the mechanical engineering team through all stages of product/system design, analysis, testing, and validation.
Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to engineers.
Ensure designs meet functional requirements, safety standards, industry codes, and customer expectations.
Review and approve engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, and BOMs.
Plan, prioritize, and allocate engineering resources based on project timelines and organizational goals.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Production, Quality, Procurement, Sales).
Drive project schedules, monitor progress, mitigate risks, and ensure timely delivery.
Promote innovation in design, materials, and processes to enhance performance, cost efficiency, and reliability.
Implement engineering best practices, design standards, and continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, DFMEA, PFMEA, DFM/DFA).
Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption where beneficial.
Ensure designs comply with regulatory standards (ASME, ISO, API, ASTM, etc., as applicable).
Work with validation group for troubleshooting of mechanical systems and components.
Collaborate with Quality and Reliability teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Work with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to define requirements and clarify technical queries.
Support sales and business development with technical inputs, product documentation, and feasibility assessments.
Recruit, train, and develop engineering talent.
Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning.
Achieve target of On-time delivery(OTD), First time right(FTR) & efficiency for engineering group undertaken.

Basic Qualifications:
BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics or equivalent.
Min. 12years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 3–5 years in leading product engineering
Strong knowledge of mechanical design, manufacturing processes, materials, and industrial standards.
Proficiency with engineering tools (CAD software like Pro-E/Creo/AutoCAD; ERP system, simulation tools
Proficiency in creating business presentations, MS excel & other soft tools required to perform job.
Strong leadership, people management, and decision-making skills.
Abilities in project management
Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
Experience in reliability engineering, product lifecycle management (PLM), and value engineering is an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
Overall experience of 15+years, with 5years of experience in leading a product engineering. Highly experienced in critical problem solving. Advanced skills in ERP, Creo, preparing business presentations, MS Excel.
